the place is nearby, all the pictures look good, and i know someone irl who had it done and they look good, so I'm. fairly confident, got a free consultation soon, anything I should know regarding colour, shape or will they just take care of it?

They'll ask your opinion on what you want but they are trained to design the brows to best suit your face. Main advice is to take some painkillers beforehand - it hurts!

I know someone who had it done and they are far too dark, darker than she asked for and she is gutted. (Yes they have settled down but still too dark). Hopefully your person will be better skilled but my advice would be emphasise as much as you can that you want them to look natural (if you do of course)

The bulk of my appointment was discussing and perfecting shape and colour. I emphasised very heavily that I wanted them to look natural - part of the discussion was how much make up I wore on a daily basis (I am a BB cream and mascara type person and most often wear none at all, do lots of sport etc) and how heavily I would fill my brows in when I did so. Loads of measurements were taken and the shape drawn in first for me to approve or not. It's far easier to add at a top up appointment if I wanted more done than to take away as the person that did mine said; I am very pleased with the result so far.

I love my microbladed eyebrows. I am well overdue due my annual colour boost but having to wait due to pregnancy.

Anyway, my initial consultation was half an hour during which my beautician showed me a portfolio of her work and talked me through the whole process including the healing period. I also had a patch test of both the ink and the numbing cream, a blob of each was placed onto my forearms and then she pricked it into my skin using something that resembled a drawing pin.

On the day I had it done, my therapist allowed a 2 hour slot, but only the last half hour of it was the actual microblading. She spent the other 90 minutes measuring and drawing out my new brows with a sharp eyebrow pencil. I was given a mirror several times to ensure I was happy with the shape and thickness before committing to ink. I was also shown her collection of inks and together we chose one that was close to my hair colour.

The day after you have them done, they will feel really dark and thick. This is totally normal, the colour will fade as the scabs heal and its swelling that makes them look too thick. Make sure you follow your aftercare advice to the letter.

I’ve had mine done. It’s the best money I’ve ever spent on my appearance!

They were very dark initially, but settled down over the next week. They were completely healed in less than a couple of weeks.

It was a bit nippy and felt a little invasive as she was working so close to my face. The worst bit was the slicing noise. It might help if you have music and headphones. I was told not to take any painkillers as they think the blood and make it harder for the pigment to enter the skin.

I’ve had two lots of microblading done, love it, I have ash blonde hair and medium but sensitive skin and it looks really natural but groomed. Dose up on the paracetamol before and get them to add as much numbing cream as poss, depending on the time of the month it can feel quite uncomfortable or nothing at all! I went back for three top ups each time, and was 110% happy.

Where would be the best place in London to get it done? Sorry Op for asking on your thread but I am considering doing this at some point.

Hullabalooo · 19/04/2019 10:09

Can anyone recommend a place in Brighton to get this done?
