ChampagneSupernovaAgain · 13/04/2019 19:52

So I have had highlights forever
But money is tight and I don't really have the dosh atm to keep going back to the hairdresser
My greys are shocking
I could maybe find a mobile hairdresser but what do I ask for?

Advice please
Tia

I would suggest getting a balayage conversion where they’ll probably also add a root stretch that matches your natural colour. This means that you can still keep the lightness but won’t have to worry about upkeep as much.

Lots of salons ask for hair models where more junior members of staff get to practice their technique under guidance of senior staff and it's usually free or heavily discounted... Would you be willing to try that?

agree with the balayage suggestion. This is what I'm doing at the moment, it's taken a couple of goes and is a work in progress but it'll be much lower maintenance once achieved. If you decide to do it just make sure you do a bit of research and find someone good as finding a decent colourist can make the difference between a lovely subtle balayage and a nasty dip dye!

I have a balayage and its really easy to maintain - I go to the hairdressers to get my roots done every 2 months and in between visits I do a DIY roots job.
