Cetephil day moisturiser SPF 50 .
And daily cleanser

I suffer from spot outbreaks ( my skin is never 100%clear . And as I'm in my late 20's I want to use SPF ..
Is it any good ?, I normally use simple.

Have you seen the dr? It’s not normal is it to have repeated outbreaks past puberty is it?.

Cetaphil contains SLS which is not good for the skin. Try Cerave instead. Have a look at Caroline Hirons blog for some ideas. You definitely need an SPF and should look at incorporating an acid into your routine.

Oh ok , no I haven't tried that.
Would the moisturiser be ok ? X

Yes it is normal for some people Fluffycloudland77

How about trying Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser OP? It keeps my skin more balanced and clear. If I run out and buy something else because it is quite expensive I soon regret it, my skin is best when I stick with it.

An SPF is good to use everyday, you may not need SPF50 however, that is very high protection, I use it as I suffer from melasma. I'm not sure what the advice is normally.

It’s not really. I put up with it for years as I had pcos & thought it was just something I had to put up with. For 25 years I was never clear, there was always a spot coming or a red mark taking months to go.

Skincare, facials, diet, contraceptive pills, giving up alcohol, 2l of water every day,no dairy, fresh pillowcase every night. I’ve done it all.

Eventually I went to the gp, she said she wouldn’t put up with what I had and referred me to dermatology who started me on Accutane straight away.

The dr said she often sits in consultations thinking “please ask me about your skin” but they don’t.

Most dermatologists recommend Cetaphil as a face wash. Two of my children have acne and are being treated by the dermatologist and use Cetaphil or Cerave. Whatever’s cheapest or on offer. We’re all allergic to Simple products here so can’t use that. The Cetaphil cream is pretty greasy and you may find it too heavy. Clinique do good sunblock that is non reactive or moisturiser with sunblock added.
In terms of spot treatment have you ever been treated for them?
Roaccutane is the very last treatment for Acne when nothing else is working. My eldest has been prescribed it for Acne that is completely non responsive to antibiotics after many years of treatment. There is a treatment protocol for Acne that gps are advised to go through first way before even thinking of roaccutane.

Would definitely recommend Ultrasun facial moisturiser - you can buy SPF 30 or 60. Non greasy and a good base for makeup.

I wouldn't recommend Cetaphil if you have any sensitivity - my face was really sore after using it. I've tried loads but always come back to using the Simple foaming cleanser!
