Best face moisturiser for someone on a budget?

Am feeling old today and my makeup is showing up dry patches. I need to start moisturising.

Any recommendations?

Also my skin can be quite sensitive...

I'm loving the whole Aldi Lacura range. Got face wash, glycolic acid wipes, serum and day and night cream for about a tenner and my skin feels great! I'm 40 but got fairly greasy and sensitive skin.

HundredMilesAnHour · 09/04/2019 18:57

Superdrug's Simply Pure range is good for sensitive skin and gets very good reviews from The Guardian's Sali Hughes. It's mainly available online so best to look at their website rather than go to an actual shop.

SpeckledyHen · 09/04/2019 18:58

Nivea Soft for day and Nivea in the blue tin for night .

le42 · 09/04/2019 19:00

I swear by Astral cream, it's a blue pot. I've tried expensive creams often but found astral is by far the best at moisturising

le42 · 09/04/2019 19:01

Tried expensive creams before* not often 😓

Fozzleyplum · 09/04/2019 19:02

I agree with the 2 types of Nivea suggestion. That's what I use, and I'm not on a budget; I just haven't found anything better.

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 09/04/2019 19:02

I swear by Astral cream, it's a blue pot. I've tried expensive creams often but found astral is by far the best at moisturising

so did my Granny and she had fabulous skin

Millipedewithherfeetup · 09/04/2019 19:03

Second the nice blue ! Outrageously cheap (around £3.00 a pot ) and it's just as good as some of the higher end products...I have (or had ! ) very dry skin and started on the blue pot day and night...my skin feels plump and soft!

Millipedewithherfeetup · 09/04/2019 19:04

*Nivea !

Shocksandboooos · 09/04/2019 19:07

I am using the Aldi soy one at the moment and my usually dry but also weirdly greasy skin looks and feels really good.

BlueMerchant · 09/04/2019 19:10

I use either nivea or astral. I use a good layer of it at night. I don't feel I need it more than that as my skin feels soft and nourished on a morning plus it does make my make-up slide off if I use it during the day.

WeeMadArthur · 09/04/2019 19:12

Superdrug’s Vitamin C range is good, cheap, and often on a buy one get one half price offer.

Iusedtobecarmen · 09/04/2019 19:31

100%Aldi
any of the range
Total budget and I've never been disappointed
Dryish skin but no problem areas

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 09/04/2019 19:32

Astral

Redcrayons · 09/04/2019 19:33

I like the Aldi lacura range. I got a bit bored of it and tried the Superdrug range which is fine. Might go back to Aldi when it’s finished.

efc1878 · 09/04/2019 19:42

Another vote for Aldi Lacura- my skin is dry, sensitive and prone to redness.

I was using Dermologica but I'm just as happy since trying the Aldi daycream and won't be going back to spending £££££

frugalkitty · 09/04/2019 20:14

If you're really sensitive, the Dr Organic olive oil day cream is lovely, moisturising without being heavy, and no scent. Nivea also do a fragrance free one in their sensitive range.

MarthasGinYard · 09/04/2019 20:21

Aldi caviar

Also good deals on Clinique moisture surge at moment

TapasForTwo · 09/04/2019 20:22

Superdrug - and it's cruelty free.

problem1234567 · 09/04/2019 20:25

Nivea, Nivea Soft, Simple Rich, Simple Light, E45.
Love all these. Some are heavier and better for overnight.
Have tried pots for £25 and half the size. No difference in my view.

Carpetburns · 09/04/2019 21:10

Loving all the Aldi recommendations! I'm def going to get this next time I see it.

M&S formula range is really nice (mid price) and feels and smells high end

HaventGotAllDay · 09/04/2019 21:34

Any moisturiser is fine. Spend on serums etc not on cream.
I use Nivea or Astral. Prefer texture of Astral but Nivea is, I think, better.
In the morning I use whatever is half price or better from Superdrug. Currently using Garnier red pot lifty thing.

rookiemere · 09/04/2019 21:36

I like Simple as the day moisturiser has SPF. Usually reduced somewhere so never buy full price.

TanselleTooTall · 09/04/2019 21:40

What is it about astral that makes it very good? I've never used it and tbh, it's something I've associated with my Granny because she's had the same old dusty pot still sitting on her bathroom shelf for years! Haven't given it a second look, ever.

Southlonmum · 09/04/2019 21:44

Buy one from Lush, yes it costs a little more but you only need a tiny bit so lasts aaages, has quality ingredients so it turns out good value. I like ultrabland which isn't even a moisturiser it's a cleanser that moisturises but it's enough.
