Choosing a new hair style

I have had this same hairstyle pretty much my whole life or some variant of it. I’ve struggled with my weight my whole life and any time I look for a change I’ve been told that a bob is all that suits me. I have a round, fullish face. Have you guys any suggestions of any alternatives that might suit.

I know it’s stupid but I should confess I absolutely hate the hairdressers and would dread the thoughts of going in with pictures of much prettier, cooler celebrities and asking for a similar hairstyle. I’d be laughed out of the place!

Any advice gratefully received!!

Honestly I would say a bob is the last thing you should have. I have a similar face to you and I always feel I look better when my hair is longer as it balances out my face if you see what I mean. So I say grow your hair and don’t go to the hairdresser! But when you do go don’t be afraid to show them photos, I always do this and nobody has laughed at me yet (when I tell them I want my hair like Caroline Flack or Sienna Miller Smile) but seriously - grow your hair out.

I have a round face and long hair just makes it look worse. Personally I think a pixie with height on the crown and short side visually slims the face. This sort of thing....

Maybe a long, slightly angled bob would work? I'm thinking a bit longer than jaw length. So if you grow out your bob a bit, get it shaped, then you can grow it a little longer if you decide you like it.

Also don't be even a bit embarrassed about taking in celeb photos. I always take in pictures of Keira Knightley and then explain that I'm not actually delusional but just quite like her hair (and have a square jaw too).

Thanks for all the tips. Now I need to find a good stylist locally... next to impossible!
