Where do you buy them? Sandal style or covered? Are they practical? For gardening or for actual out and about? What do you wear them with? Why are all the nice scandi ones so expensive? Felt or leather? Fashionable or beyond hideous?

Come at me with your clog lore.

I LOVE my Clarks clogs. I have the covered foot with strap across the front of the ankle version with a squidgy sole that looks like wood.

I have tried the backless ones but found them really uncomfortable -same with the Lotta real wood ones. However Lotta are doing soft sole ones now and White Stuff have some gorgeous mustard ones with the flex section built in under the ball of the foot. Maybe worth a try?

I bought a beautiful pair of clogs when I was 11. They were red, one wide strap across the toes and had a gold buckle. I put them on in the car on the way home from the shop and couldn't wait to wear them for the rest of the summer. I slipped, three steps from the car. I completely skinned both knees which were swollen for about a week after. I've never been brave enough to wear clogs since that day. They look so pretty but give me the fear.

paul just realised we clearly are on the same wavelength - can you link to your Clark’s ones? I almost want two pairs, soft-soled covered ones to wear in the garden etc, and pretty wooden ones exactly like those.

mother has a good point though - would I fall over while out and about?!?!?

I don’t think I they sell them me anymore but to mine are like these but in beige suede with a darker sole. They turn up on EBay a lot though. They are so comfortable and go with everything...

I have two pairs of the fake Clarks ones - sandal style in black and orange. I love them (apart from the fact that one of the orange ones farts when I walk Grin). I do also have some boots with a proper wooden clog sole, which are weirdly comfortable.

I bought some in Sweden a couple of years ago that I WILL break in this year. I have a feeling that you need to persevere with them to make them comfortable.

TildaKauskumholm · 02/04/2019 15:23

Have had Clarks ones over the years, always comfy, but real wooden clogs are very uncomfortable! Clarks don't do many now but there are good German brands such as Josef Siebel and Rohde here.

Sunonthepatio · 02/04/2019 15:35

I had several pairs a couple of decades ago. I recognise now that they were as uncomfortable as all hell.

Swedish Hasbeens. Gorgeous!

Try Lotta from Stockholm, loads of styles and a good price too.

Another vote for Lotta's- I have a few pairs, most of which I bought as seconds on their website. I find them comfy, but they do take a little getting used to.

jessohln · 03/04/2019 14:35

There's this other Swedish brand called Docksta. I have three pairs, they're really pretty and comfy. www.dockstasko.com/shoes

I've had a few pairs from Lotta, but the last pair were a different brand, Ten Points, with a softer footbed and they're dead comfy.
