I have a 6 yo DS who destroys shoes... Clarks, M&S .... not lasted.... can anyone recommend shoes that last more than a couple of days before they look atrocious?

Geox savage last reasonably well. They’re quite chunky but in a sporty way, if that makes sense.

SweepTheHalls · 31/03/2019 18:47

Geox savage. Have tried others only to be disappointed and go back and replace with yet more Geox Savage!

NoTNoShade · 31/03/2019 18:48

Doctor Martens.

Michaelbaubles · 31/03/2019 18:48

Was coming here to say this - bought some for seriously hard on shoes DS (7) in October to replace the shoes he’d trashed in six weeks, and they look nearly as good as new. Pricey but worth every penny!

WhatNow40 · 31/03/2019 19:25

We went through 4 pairs of shoes Sept - Dec. I got Kickers for him in Jan and they have faired really well, will defo last until summer.

Toadsrevisited · 31/03/2019 19:26

Geox. My DS is so hard on shoes and these are the first ever he has grown out of rather than trashed!

blueskiesovertheforest · 31/03/2019 19:29

We had Geox for ds1 all through primary too - other shoes never lasted longer than a few weeks but Geox lasted til outgrown, though they'd look shabby by then they'd be in tact.

Blueberryblueberry · 31/03/2019 19:41

Dr martens. DD has the Mary Jane type patent ones and they've been amazing. She'd walked through the soles of three pairs of Clarke's/m&s type ones last year and the docs are still looking amazing (and only slightly scuffed)

CallMeWoman · 31/03/2019 19:41

Doc martens, if they do smaller sizes?

BentNeckLady · 31/03/2019 19:43

Yup, doc martens. Dd 14 has just had hers replaced after 2 and a half years! 10 year old Dss lasted a year.l which is about 9 months longer than every other pair he’s ever had.

BerryMenthol · 31/03/2019 21:59

The problem with Dr Martens & Kickers is that he still struggles with laces .... how do the velcro ones fare?

OP posts:
FoddyWaddle · 31/03/2019 22:04

Try treads, they have a 1 year guarantee. My Ds has just had his replacement pair and they were 11 months old! My other DS who has DCD so is forever destroying shoes grew out of his before they were even near destroyed.

NoTNoShade · 31/03/2019 22:06

https://www.drmartens.com/uk/en_gb/p/24289001 The Velcro is robust.

Darkbaptism · 31/03/2019 22:08

Treads. DS is really hard in shoes and his Treads are still looking great. I saw them advertised on Facebook and was sceptical but I have been pleasantly surprised.

MrsPnut · 31/03/2019 22:11

Whilst they are young then Geox are great but once they are older Dr Martens are the best option.

ASilhouetteAndNothingMore · 31/03/2019 22:13

Another recommendation for treads. My year 9 DS has destroyed every other pair of school shoes from clarks to asda. I bought Treads in September and they are still immaculate.

NigelYerABawbag · 31/03/2019 22:17

My 8 year old who destroys ever pair of shoes within weeks, has so far has 1.5 terms out of some Start Rite Extreme PRIs.

They honestly still look almost new. And he is hard on shoes.

BonnesVacances · 31/03/2019 22:20

Came on to say Treads but I see I've been beaten to it. DS has had his since September and they still look like new. I'm really really pleased with them.

averythinline · 01/04/2019 07:56

Ricosta
DS has never ever ever worn through them, they are light, they do a slim and wide fit - amazing things

golightlytoday · 01/04/2019 07:59

www.treads-shoes.com

They have a year guarantee
