Weak nails-IBX?

I was wondering whether the IBX treatments I've seen at my local salon do what they say? I have weak, bendy nails which tear and have tried all sorts to strengthen them before with no effect ( various Sally Hansen products, Nail Envy, to name a couple). IBX seems to penetrate the nail from reading about it, so might be better? Diet is fine and varied, I wasn't sure if those hair and nail supplements are any good either. My hair is great and in good condition, so I suspect it's just a hereditary thing. Is there anything out there to help?

my nails split and flake in winter - I have tried Sally Hensen etc - no difference . I am going to try OPI Nail Envy - is it no good @Superstrange ? because relatively expensive. I too have thick hair - so no worries there ( well getting thinner as I get older ) The one thing I would say is that I once and once only had a shellac type thing ( not sure what it was ) but nails were definitely weaker and worse after.

I am going for short squared off nails and just trying to keep them healthy. Do you think Vicks would work - people say it covers all sorts of toe nail things. My granny ( sadly not with us ) always recommended eating a cube of jelly & olive oil over nails - but then to be fair she was not a beautician & that is probably old wive's tales.

I can see my nails are like my father's so possibly I just have not been blessed with great nails. I just want to keep them in neat and good order Blush

Vaseline applied at bedtime. Just a teeny tiny bit. Long, strong and supple nails in a very short time.

IBX is the dogs danglies. It does strengthen the nail and it pulls them in tighter so they look better after a few treatments.

It makes it easier and quicker to get gel polish off too.

@BasiliskStare - I wouldn't say it's no good, lots of people swear by it. It just wasn't for me.

I think I'll try my usual approach of working from the cheapest option to the more expensive and will buy some Vaseline today. My salon does IBX; do you think the Vaseline will work in a couple of weeks?

You will see a difference the next morning with vaseline. In a weeks time your nails unless you have a medical condition, will be transformed.

You must gently fold them each day to keep the edges snag free.

Well after 24 hrs and four applications of nail oil, they look a lot better. Now to see how they grow out!!

Right - I am going to try Vaseline for a few days - see how it goes and then OPI Nail Envy & we shall see . I suspect I have inherited poor nails & I don't covert long impressive nails , I just want decent square strong ones.
