I am 37, just had a baby (3m old) and although I look young for my age (thanks to oily skin most of my life!) I am now beginning to look a little tired and my skin a bit 'dull' and feel the time has come for a new skincare routine. I have always used Clarins facewash for oily skin and an oil free Nivea moisturiser with SPF15 but nothing else in terms of 'treatment' creams (i.e. nightcream for eyes etc.) and would love to hear from anyone with similar skin or just some advice on which brands/products they really rate?

thanks

I am 29 and with different skin but I do think it may be worth investing in a facial exfoliator. This will take off any dead skin and leave a glow. After this, slather on some good moisterisor/night cream.

I have used the Chanel one and it was very good though I'm not sure expensive is any better for exfoliators. You'd only need to use it once a week, so any you buy should last quite a while.

It may be worth getting an eye cream anyway - I already use one just for preventitive reasons, if nothing else. (I use Garnier Ultra Lift Eye)

Anti-ageing-wise, Retinol based things are the only ones actually proven to work on wrinkles. You've not said you have wrinkles though (lucky you!), but just thought I'd add this just incase.

Hope this helps?

I'm 35 - oily skin, 2 kids, constantly tired! I rate Liz Earle 'Cleanse and Polish' as my absolute top fave as cleanses and exfoliates in one as uses a muslin cloth. I find Garnier 'Hint of Sun' (or somesuch name) moisturiser is good for a bit of colour without looking Tango-ed. I've never really got on with eye creams but often slather a bit of Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream on eyes and lips at night for some intensive moisturising. If we could get sleep in a bottle we'd be fine though eh?

I'm 33, had oily skin most of my life too and now have an 8 month baby which has made me look a bit tired too! I swear by Dermalogica, go and get a facial and get the beautician to recommend what cleanser/exfoliator/moisturiser to use. It is expensive but it lasts for ages and if it can make me look human it will do wonders for the rest of the population!

I'd echo sparkletastic on the Liz Earle stuff - it's all lovely, and very effective.

Also agree re the Liz Earle range, lovely, gentle and eco and bunny friendly too. Comes beautifuuly wrapped in tissue paper always with a little free gift too. I love it and have converted DH to the mens range as well (which is saying something).....

Thanks everyone - may investigate Liz Earle range and had thought about Dermalogica myself so may treat myself to a facial anyway!

another vote for Liz Earle cleanser, but when it comes to moisturiser I am so oily I still need an anti-spot one (particularly like Johnson Clean and Clear with the salicylic acid but you can only get it in the US [grr])
