Shampoo and conditioner recommendations for highlighted hair to make it shiny hair

Hi

My hairdresser has recommended that I change my shampoo to something more natural from Pantene. I don't know where to start.

I have wavy hair which is bleached by highlights and I straighten it daily. It's pretty frizzy and fly away and is fine but lots of it. I would like it to be shiny, smooth and sleek without the frizz and horrible waves around the face and ears.

What would you recommend?

i think i would try this shampoo and this conditioner. all the best x

Your hair is similar to mine OP.

Ditch the straighteners as they will ruin the condition long term. Babyliss big hair can be good for styling/straightening.

I tried the JASON Sea Kelp conditioner that sleepismysuperpower1 recommended and it did nothing for me whatsoever.

I tend to use Tigi Bed Head Ego Boost which is a leave in conditioner as well as shampoo and conditioner and also Redken Outshine Finishing Cream.

Shampoo/conditioner - some people recommend Aussie for highlights. Some people get on well with John Frieda Blonde range.

Redken Extreme conditioner and shampoo is expensive (buy the bigger bottles) but is great for condition.

I'm almost certain that the straightening is making it frizzy and fly away. You would probably need to use a weekly hair masque - Garnier are doing really nice ones - I got a Papaya one this week but not tried it yet.

Aveda blue malva shampoo and conditioner. Lasts ages but expensive in the first place.

I’ve just rediscovered the John Freida blonde shampoo and it’s made a huge difference in refreshing my blonde colour, leaving it shiny and full of body- it’s very fine. I used to use it years ago and forgot how good it is

sulee - it's good isn't it? not using it 100% all the time now but went back to it recently and it's very good for a good price.

Thanks for the replies. I know the straighteners don't help but my hair looks terrible without then if down. I only use them around the front and my ears to get rid of the curls.

I have ordered the redkin and the ego boost so hopefully it will make a different. They were pricy so small amounts.

I’ve got similar hair and I’m never giving up the straighteners! I use a spareing amount of coconut oil which I leave in for a while before washing and also frizz ease deep conditioner- the one in a tub.

cleomummy - why don't you look into Brazilian blow dry? The Ego Boost and Redken are great (styling) and I often find Ego Boost used or brand new but cheaper and genuine on Ebay.
