Talc contaminated with asbestos

The FDA has confirmed that asbestos has been found in a modern day cosmetic product.

Don't believe the hype that talc is now free of asbestos. It is often the main ingredient in blush and bronzer.

Lush, Boots, Bobbi Brown, L'oreal etc etc all use talc in their products. If you value your health, look for talc free alternatives .

It won't stop me from using talc. I love the stuff. Used it all my life, I'll take my chances.

Feel free to continue!

Sure some other people don't feel the same.

I thought this was well known, unless there have been times when other substances were in there.
I remember with dd 15 years ago they were warning against it, and then before this it was ds2 aged 24, now.
It's never been very good for babies.

It was supposed to be asbestos free now. Except it isn't.

Johnson and Johnson will probably go bankrupt. Cosmetic companies will follow.

Does this apply to makeup powder products that contain talc then? As most powders and setting powders are mainly talc

RomanyQueen1 · 25/03/2019 21:25

Even scarier it's in other products, time to read our labels.
There was something that had talc in that really surprised me, but can't think for the life what it was.

RomanyQueen1 · 25/03/2019 21:27

Vitamins - just googled. Grin

slinkysaluki · 26/03/2019 04:31

I use powder made from corn starch, Aldi baby powder. Talc free

Palominoo · 26/03/2019 04:37

Not enough for me to worry about.

cedge · 26/03/2019 10:19

Talc in all cosmetics has a risk of asbestos contamination.

Best to avoid talc completely. Not a good idea to be putting powder that might contain asbestos on your face.

Asbestos is everywhere, it's quite sad. A builder friend told me to avoid large cities on windy days!
