Need help with my skin

I have just been discharged from hospital after being in a coma for 6 weeks (I did have 3 weeks rehab after waking up). As a result my skin is in a right old mess.

My face feels rough, the skin on my legs is flaky and don't get me started on my feet...they're a disgrace! Does anybody know of any really good products that can sort me out? Preferably bargainous and available online as I'm still not very mobile. Thanks!

Sorry to read about your recent ill health - hope you have a speedy recovery.

An oil (coconut, olive etc) can be used as a moisturiser, deep hair conditioning mask etc), strengthen your nails/cuticle treatment. You can also make a homemade exfoliator if you add sugar to it.

Squalane oil is excellent and non greasy.

Try a gentle exfoliant first and persevere.

Hope that you get well soon.

I’m very sorry to hear about your ill health.

Long soaks in the bath will soften your skin which you can then exfoliate with a mitt and liquid Marseille soap - which hydrates rather than strips the skin.

Thanks all! Unfortunately I can't get in and out of the bath yet, but will check out that Marseille stuff when I can

Can you shower?

YesQueen · 20/03/2019 12:22

@itstheyearzero I'm on the app but if you PM me I would like to send you a little something Smile

I'd be a bit cautious about too many new products in one go, particularly if they contain actives like acids, vitamin C etc (I'm currently dealing with the spotty, flaky fall-out of forgetting this..) but the Superdrug Naturally Radiant and Vitamin E ranges are pretty good. I'd suggest trying the hot cloth cleanser with a flannel, followed by the glycolic toner (as an acid exfoliant), a serum and the moisturiser (and sunblock too).

For the feet, if you are prepared to wait a week for results and enjoy leaving a trail of dead skin behind you then Footner is marvellous. Otherwise a cracked heel cream with urea like Flexitol (Superdrug also has their own cheaper one, not tried it) after a pumice scrub or foot file.

I have dry skin and like Aveeno, Vaseline lotions or Nivea (the firming one sinks in better but doesn't have that original smell). And Superdrug also does a tub of Vitamin E cream, I remember it being cheap but effective. Oils don't work well for me, wish they did.

Best wishes for your recovery!

Flexitol Moisturising Foot Cream for Dry Feet & Legs (available in 500g or 85g sizes).

I'd apply sunflower oil on the legs and wash off and then moisturise them with olive oil.

Squalene and all the intense range from Avene
