Rosacea - which La Roche Posay products?

My skin is just out of control and horrible at the moment. Dry redness that breaks through make-up and horrible patches of a red dot-like rash on my cheeks, and weirdly, below my chin.

It's getting worse, not better. My usual skincare is just not working so I thought I'd try La Roche Posay but I have no idea where to start and I don't want to make more expensive mistakes (probably spent £120 on primers and foundations recently that look terrible).

Any recommendations? Doesn't have to be La Roche Posay - anything that would work!

Thanks for this OP, I too suffer from Rosacea and as well as using lots of the above pp I have found when I’ve had a bad outbreak I’ve twice resorted to Acupuncture and it’s really helped clear things up.
I think it must help balance the hormones?

@popuppippa yeah I was a little sceptical as it seemed to be primarily prescribed for adult acne but the results were amazing. It was lovely to find a simple solution after spending probably £100s on different creams and make up! I think you can also get it easily on private prescription if needed! Hopefully you won’t need the Plan B and the Soolantra will do the job! Smile good luck!

Thank you, Popupippa, your thread has been so useful. I just stumbled across this in active threads and clicked because I have been having similar and increasingly worse issues with the skin on my cheeks. Like you, I’ve spent a small fortune in skincare and cosmetics but finally I’ve realised that I must get to a doctor as it is getting worse all the time. If I get any useful advice/products I will report back and share it.

Anecdotally, I have found Chantecaille Future Skin foundation is expensive but doesn’t aggravate it although coverage is light. I have just switched from Eve Lom which was too rich and making it worse to Dr. Jackson’s Face wash. I only bought it yesterday so it’s too soon to say if it’s any good but my skin is not as angry today. That could also be because I’ve had a make up free day. The sales people at Space NK said not to wash my face morning and night for the time being, only at night as all the cleansing is aggravating it more. They also said no face masks for now. I know they aren’t dermatologists so take it with a pinch of salt but I do see the sense in it. I would love to stay home and lay off the make up for a week and see if it improves but not an option I’m afraid.

The only sliver of a silver lining is that the rest of my skin looks amazing with all the TLC it’s been getting.

I have been to my doctor now and in my case they have prescribed Zineryt. When I asked about cleansing they suggested Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, which I have just bought at the refreshingly affordable price of £8.99.
