Cheaper alternative to GHDs

My GHDs have finally packed up and I'm looking for recommendations of a cheaper alternative as they seem to be about £170 nowadays! I'm sure there are equally good alternatives out there.

Following as also looking for some new straighteners!

My daughter has a pair I bought myself in primark when I was on a business trip and forgot mine. They are straighteners and curlers and we’re £10. She rates them and is happy to use them and not nick my GHDs so they must be ok.

Sorry if that is too cheap.

Cloud 9 and Coriliss are meant to be fab and a few I know from Facebook have gone for these instead of GHD. Unsure of cost of these though.

Scoutsrus · 18/03/2019 08:55

Cloud 9 I know are more expensive than GHDs although they are supposed to be fabulous.

If you search Facebook marketplace you might get a refurbished or second hand pair of GHDs?

I've had my babyliss pair that cost about £40 about 15 years ago!! Theyre brilliant! And don't damage my hair

I've had my ghds about 7 years but I bought some remingtons ones from boots just for taking on holiday incase they got broked. They are called 230s and we're about £20!

I actually use them more than my ghds now and wouldn't repurchase ghds when they die

Read the reviews on the boots website (sorry not sure how to link)

I have some tressemme ones, they weren't expensive and I've had them about 10 years and they are still going strong.

JillGoodacre · 18/03/2019 11:00

I've got babyliss ones -
I've had them 7 years and they're fab. Think they were about £80 reduced to £35 on Amazon.

Lee Stafford the pink ones

happilybemused · 18/03/2019 12:37

Thanks everyone. I don't want to spend a lot of money so £30-£60 rather than £170 :)

I bought the Babyliss ones which were £30 from Amazon. Very impressed so far. No different to the GHD's and not £175 ! I don't have difficult hair though, just fine and fly away. Gutted I spent so much previously to be honest !

Diva - recommended by my hairdresser as he prefers them to GHDs and they’re much cheaper. Very impressed with them
