Is Clinique make up with the money?

Just wondering, do you think its worth the splurge? I used to use it years ago when the foundations were £18 and the lipsticks £10 but now its got really expensive. I have sensitive skin and need to be careful what I use.

I don't think it is. It is nice but goes off very quickly. I'd look at Boots No7 and CYO as possible alternatives.

DramaAlpaca · 18/03/2019 19:07

I rate Boots No7 over Clinique, tbh.

I don't think it's worth it, I had some chubby sticks etc and they seemed to break very easily... I don't like no7 either.

I rate urban decay for eye shadow, lancome for foundation and mascara, benefit for blusher and highlighter. Estee Lauder good as well.

I like it especially the eyeshadows and sometimes buy it.

I think it is excellent and have bought it for years. Currently loving their Colour Pop lipsticks. I don’t rate Boots No 7.

I use the anti blemish foundation and love it, great coverage without being pancakey, good range of colours and nice texture. I’ve got acne and my doctor recommended getting a non-comedogenic foundation if I had to wear makeup. My skin has cleared up a lot since I started using this foundation (not saying that the foundation is responsible but at least it’s not working against the acne treatment as I felt my other foundation did)

I'd think it was mid range for price- a lot cheaper than Dior or Chanel.

I used to buy it as it was hypoallergenic and their foundations were one of the only ones without perfume- which is good if you have any medical issues with your skin.

I used their foundation for years but they got rid of the palest shades so I had to go to another brand- Bobbi Brown.

ApolloandDaphne · 19/03/2019 09:05

I like the lipsticks. I prefer Bobbi Brown for eyeshadows, blusher, primer and mascara and Clarins for foundation and concealer. My powder is Laura Mercier.

I like it a lot and I think it's worth the money. I've spent so much time and money trying cheaper alternatives when in reality I should have just stuck with what suits (that goes for skincare as well).

I use Clinique Beyond Perfecting foundation/concealer, High Impact Mascara and Dramatically Different Lipstick. And also their City Block spf40 (not sure if that counts as a primer!).

I also like Benefit blushers/highlighters, mascara, Hoola powder and Gimme Brow.

I worked for Clinique for 15 years as a consultant on a beauty counter. We would all - even with the 65% discount we got - buy similar coloured products (eyeshadows, lipsticks etc) from other cheap brands and wear them - there is no difference between them. Everyone used to like the foundations however, they’re really good.

EKGEMS · 19/03/2019 13:23

I think it is-their moisturizer, lip stick, foundation, mascara and eyeliner are great for my sensitive skin and eyes

SheisMammyof2 · 19/03/2019 13:29

I don't think it is. I used to use their foundations but find they don't suit my skin anymore. I used their All About Eyes concealer until they changed it recently and the replacement is pretty useless so won't be purchasing again. I use mineral powder foundation now and find it fab. I'll have to research a new concealer.
