Has anyone used. Beauty Pie? What do you think of the products?
I'm looking for a good hyaluronic acid serum and a retinol serum- can anyone recommend one?

www.beautypie.com
Thanks!

@Newtobusiness if your friend uses it, then why not ask him/her? Still nowhere near convinced. Still have no idea why you wouldn't buy Indeed Labs or the Ordinary granactive retinoid ... or get on the snail skincare threads on here and ask rather than create a new thread, with a link to the homepage of the brand. I would never ever pay money blindly in advance just to try stuff that even on your own thread gets very mixed (and mostly negative) reviews.

Bodicea · 17/03/2019 11:42

Not everyone likes the ordinary. I went though a phase with them And their sister brands and they made a mess of my skin. I wasn't using any of the harsh retinoids or exfoliants either. Their products are not pleasant to use and are mostly one note not decent complex formulas.
So I don't see why someone can't ask about the products of a new company that is doing things differently. If their are a few bots on here then they at least they are spending less on expensive campaigns and more on their products. So far I have been pleasantly surprised. I bought a moisturiser ( the antiaging one) and it was lovely to use. Would I pay £100 for it : uh no, but I was happy enough to pay their members price plus my subscription costs. I also liked the vit c capsules and the way they are stored. Haven't tried any retinol products as am breastfeeding. I think they will have some hits and some misses after all their products are coming from different labs. So just do your research and choose carefully.

The makeup is also really good and good value, and cheap enough to experiment with a bit.

Elllllle · 17/03/2019 11:59

The Ordinary was an example. I dont expect anybody will get along with everything from one brand. Anyway, I'm not going to buy it but if others want to, what do I care? I'm just sick of the same iffy threads popping up all the time.

BatFacedGal · 17/03/2019 12:19

Me too. I know for a fact they do this. I work in this industry and in my line of work I won't have anything to do with BP, promotion wise.

It's also not particularly cheap. You're encouraged to buy in bulk and stockpile.

Elllllle · 17/03/2019 12:41

Honestly why would you ever stockpile a vit c product? How ridiculous.

Newtobusiness · 17/03/2019 17:19

Shock a little suprised at some responses...

Thanks for all your input. From this thread it sounds like Beauty Pie www.beautypie.co.uk (😏) has some very mixed reviews!

I don't like the sound of the Ordinary, sounds far too complicated... I like Elemis and have recently discovered PCA, so I might stick to those. They are just very pricey!

Reviews are generally positive. I completely get that some people would prefer to pay for a premium brand. I have been allergic to enough premium brand products that I would rather spend much less on a generic version, and then deciding whether the spendy version is sufficiently better to merit the money. I use bp as a comparison, but from the cheap end. If I have never bought Creme de la Mer, then I am not ever going to plonk £150 into an SA's hand just because some beauty journalist has fallen for the PR hype of this week's pretty package and a free tub of gunk.

I also thought the Ordinary was good in bits, but far far too complicated for anybody who didn't want to obsess over skincare.

At 60+, I am sure there's no skincare range that will turn the clock back 40 years.

OxanaVorontsova · 17/03/2019 18:04

I like it, I am on the minimum subscription and buy a couple of things every few months. I like what I've had so far and never felt any pressure to stockpile.

XingMing · 17/03/2019 18:04

Correction, at 60+, I KNOW that no skincare product, however costly, is going to turn back the clock. Good for her age is the only comment I need to hear.

FattyFatCakes · 17/03/2019 18:09

I’m a member and I like it. I’ve slowly started to switch over to their make up / skincare and I’m saving money from the premium brands I was using.

Almahart · 17/03/2019 19:50

I like the make up and I think it’s good value, I also have one of the perfumes which is lovely. I’m not massively into skin care. I have the hot cloth cleanser which is fine but not amazing

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 17/03/2019 21:16

Every time I see a thread on this I assume BP started it. Glad I am not the only one!

Lumene · 18/03/2019 15:12

I am currently a member and have enjoyed it but am going to stop as I now have too much stuff and need to use it up. I don’t think it’s a scam just a different business model.

EmpressJewel · 18/03/2019 15:30

I have never used Beauty Pie, but am highly suspicious of the amount of threads about them recently.

Personally, I dislike the membership business model and the thought of having to pay for postage on top is an extra no-no for me.

VanCleefArpels · 18/03/2019 17:19

I’ve been really impressed and have upped my subscription to £10 a month to get what I want! I thought the Schtick was that BP get their products from the same factories /parfumiers etc that the high end brands do but just don’t add a premium for packaging, PR etc. Hence the comparisons with high end brands both in terms of formula and price - it’s essentially the same stuff in plain packaging

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 18/03/2019 17:54

I've been a MNetter since 2007 under various names & I'm a BeautyPie member & I don't work for them.
I like their Uber Youth Peptide eye cream & the tinted moisturiser which I reorder. I've tried the One Powder Wonder & it's ok but I'm not too impressed as the case is too flimsy & breaks easily, so don't think I'll get that again.
I do the £5 membership as that's enough for me.
I can't always afford to buy my favourite high end stuff & have wasted money on high street alternatives (especially tinted moisturiser!) so I like Beauty Pie because it's still cheaper if I get something not quite right.

lotusbell · 19/04/2019 09:00

I really want to try the perfumes but don't want to try the naked up and not really bothered about the skincare. Wonder if its worth trying the mini monthly membership just buy the perfume? I've heard great things.

furrytoebean · 19/04/2019 09:02

I really love their lime basil perfume, I bought the tester set before I bought one.
I liked all the perfumes in the set but LOVED the lime one.

RadioSilence · 19/04/2019 11:11

If it's in stock you can buy the perfume testers as a non member for not much more than the member price if that is all you are interested in. That's what I did. I was going to join but their stock issues have put me off to be honest. Every time I go to the site to look thinking I'll take the plunge this time so much of what I would want is out of stock, and this happens month after month.

takeyourcanvasbag · 21/04/2019 07:28

I use and like a couple of skincare things but tried one of the scented candles and it was rubbish.
