Almost kicked off with a shocking typo Grin

Festival season isn't too long away for me now and I'm in the market for some wellies. Basically I expect to walk loads in all weathers, but won't be wearing them every day for months on end.

Reviews so far have suggested that the quality of hunters is now poor, Joules split and Aigle etc seem expensive for a couple of weekends trudging.

Any reviews of the above, thoughts on other brands or suggested based on your own Glastonbury/Reading/TinthePark experiences?

I wear mine on the allotment. The best advice I can give you is put in some insoles. Dunlop is your way to go.

I have hunters that have lasted well, they’re three years old and still ok. I have a few pairs of boots including Dunlop’s for very mucky jobs however the hunters have been fine for dog walking, camping etc. They even saw me through many dats of lambing and calving as they live in my car and I was forever forgetting to put my leather work boots in it at 6am. What I would say is that they’re probably not the best quality for the price but if you only want them for festival and are willing to pay for a the look/brand name then they should be fine.

Also to add, if you’re not bothered about look/brand and they’ll only be used for festivals pick up some Dunlop’s as for £10 they’re very unlikely to break and pretty comfy. Alternatively if you want comfortable I’d be tempted to pick up a cheap pair in any old brand from your local sports direct/country store as most should do a few weekends festival wear.

Thanks! I think I'll get the dunlops and insoles and test them out beforehand

Farmer here! If you were going to be wearing them day in day out, I’d say Chams but you can’t go wrong with some dunlops with insoles for cheap and cheerful!

Hunters are my fave, but the quality is crap. I’ve had a few pairs. Same as joules.
I’d recommend a cheap pair that you can just keep replacing and not get too precious about.
