Primer to use without foundation

MumUndone · 13/03/2019 13:10

I hate wearing foundation, I've never managed to find one that's the right colour and/or consistency.

However, I would like to look a bit more put together and, well, nicer.

I have tried BB and CC creams, but all seem to contain SPF, which doesn't agree with my skin if used on a daily basis. I've also looked at tinted moisturisers but same problem (at least the ones I've seen in Boots) so maybe a primer would work? I'd like to even my skin tone mainly, though blurring fine lines and wrinkles would also be good - though I don't want any of those glittery, light-reflecting particles.

Any recommendations? Thanks.

I've recently bought products from the Farsali range including their skintune blur and whilst I also wear make up I can see that even on its own it makes the skin look better.

MumUndone · 13/03/2019 17:27

Thanks Palominoo, I haven't heard of that range before so I'll check it out.

Any other recommendations?

Dermalogica do a good one

Bubblysqueak · 13/03/2019 17:30

I've found the holy grail!!

It's called heliocare (sp?)

Google beauty and the boutique as it's featured there with videos etc (this is where I found it , on the no make up make up guide) it honestly really is as good as it looks (I was a complete novice but since using this I actually look good even if I do say so myself)

Bubblysqueak · 13/03/2019 17:31

strike out fail

Bw3344 · 13/03/2019 17:31

I use max factor faceinity, its concealer, foundation and primer all in one and sits perfectly and lasts all day. Not ridiculously expensive either.
The primer and foundation that MAC do are really fantastic as well but they're a lot more expensive!
Good luck! Xx

Cheapy but a goodie is the GOSH anti-pollution one. I buy more expensive ones but always go back to it. I have sensitive reactive skin and it’s one of the few products that doesn’t upset it. I use it on its own without foundation often.

MumUndone · 13/03/2019 17:38

Thanks Bubbly but sadly I think it contains SPF, which I'd like to avoid.

The Dermalogica one is a bit more than I'd want to spend, and I think the Max Factor one has SPF unfortunately. Will try the GOSH one and see how I get on.

I use nanoblur by Indeed Labs (boots sell it)

WatchingTheWheels85 · 13/03/2019 20:21

I use marcelle golden glow illuminator which is amazing. But before I found this I used rimmel insta flawless which is a lightly tinted primer.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 13/03/2019 20:31

I second nanoblur. It's brilliant.

NormaLouiseBates · 13/03/2019 23:18

Have you tried Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch? Sounds like it could be what you're looking for.

Coffeepot72 · 14/03/2019 10:16

Boots No 7 Airbrush Primer - its fab

Elllllle · 14/03/2019 11:11

I'm not sure any primer is going to do much without makeup on top, sorry.

YesQueen · 14/03/2019 11:24

How about these? Cheaper on feel unique website I think. You can mix a few drops with your moisturiser for a tiny bit of coverage

YesQueen · 14/03/2019 11:26

No7 do them too

BuffaloCauliflower · 14/03/2019 11:44

@Elllllle actually a primer on its own can do a lot, you’re wrong

poppym12 · 14/03/2019 12:02

I use this GOSH one if I'm looking particularly haggard and blotchy as I don't like foundation either.

WeMarchOn · 14/03/2019 12:19

I use Estée Lauder double wear primer

MumUndone · 14/03/2019 12:26

Great recommendations, thanks all.
