Wardrobe organising ideas?

A first world question but... Out of interest, how do other people organise their closet/wardrobes, and does anyone have a system they think is excellent?

Do you hang / store all clothes of one type together, (E.g. all dresses, all jumpers/tops, all trousers) or do you separate casual / going out etc? I don't have formal work clothes for my work so I only tend to wear 1 of 3 'types' of clothing:
comfy / house clothes,
casual 'outside' clothes for work / day out etc
smart/evening going out clothes.
(Plus I have gym wear)

Is it a good idea to separate these out in different places or just put all items in the same place? What if things crossover into different categories- E.g. a nice top could be worn day or evening?!!

For context, I have done a big Kondo clear out and now only have clothes I want to keep. Available to use I have one smallish narrow wardrobe in my bedroom, consisting of two rows half height hanging space. Also on my bedroom is a chest of drawers which I use for underwear, socks and tights.

In the spare room next door I am lucky enough to have an additional larger wardrobe. This has some full length hanging space and some large drawers.

Coats are kept separately in the hallway.

How would you best use these spaces?
I'd love to hear about your excellent life hacks!

I sort my clothes into categories, trousers then skirts then dresses. Tops are separated into types so T-shirt’s together, long sleeved together, short sleeved together and then all hung in colour groups. So white tshirts, black T-shirt’s, coloured T-shirt’s etc. Knitwear the same. I have no drawers except for underwear etc but lots of hanging space so hang all my clothes
