REALLY supportive sports bras

Morning all. Title of thread says it all really. My sports bras are from Peacocks. They are fine for things like yoga and ballet, where I'm not jumping around too much, but I wore one for Zumba last night and I was very aware that it wasn't supporting me as it should (ahem).

I bought my existing sports bras when I thought I was a 36D. However, having been measured as a 34F, I think I definitely need something more supportive. So, ladies, any recommendations? I don't really want to spend Rigby and Peller type money, but happy to spend more than Peacocks £8 a go......

Shock Absorber!

Shock absorber. Quirky sizing so try on in-store. Might find you go up a band and down a cup. You can get them cheaper on Amazon/eBay if you're not fussy about colour.

Thanks both. I'm going to the Bravissimo shop in Covent Gardens on Friday evening so hopefully they will have some in store to try on. Will bear in mind about Amazon/Ebay as well - thanks ArkAtEee

I find the panache wired sports bra works for me

HundredMilesAnHour · 12/03/2019 13:50

I always buy Shock Absorber. I've tried other brands (including Panache) but always go back to Shock Absorber. I tend to buy them off Ebay/Amazon but they're also stocked in some Gossard/lingerie outlet shops (I go to the one at Freeport Braintree).

It surprises me how so many so-called sports bras have such little support. I'm a D cup and have been obsessive about "proper" sports bras for years. I don't want any bounce from my boobs when I'm jumping up and down in a HIIT class.

You can also get tops, usually vests, that have built-in support. I wouldn't recommend using these on their own for anything except yoga, but they will give an extra level on top of a sports bra for really high impact without feeling totally restricted.

Also shock absorber or you could just go for wearing 2 at once.

Shock absorber ultimate run are best imo, even if you're not running! Debenhams had 20% off last week, not sure about now.

MinesaPinot · 12/03/2019 20:57

Sounds like Shock Absorber it is then! Thanks for all your responses.

Have a look in TK Maxx if you can. Lots and lots of high impact ones available for a good price.

Thanks Fstar I will have a look at that one.
