Skirt styles

So there seem to be quite a lot of skirts around atm. I generally find a skirt more flattering than trousers so was considering a couple for work. I need to be smart/casual and not too short. Not pencil as I am a curvy hourglass/pear with a lower abdomen pouch (thanks kids) and pencils which don't cling to the tummy are too loose on the waist.

I quite fancy a wrap or paper bag type waist midi length job. Preferably in a colour not black and preferably not if a shitty synthetic fabric. I am a short size 14.

There is one on Boden which does tick most boxes but it's 80 quid and I can't find a code better than20%. Ideally I'd not spend more than £50 for work.

Also what shoes? Can I do chunky loafer or pointy sling back flats? I struggle in heels.

Alternative is those slip skirts but I fear the bias cut is not always flattering to my hips/tummy. Plus I so remember those from the 90s......

With skirts I always go with what suits me, not what's in fashion. As a pear, pencils and bias cut don't work for me so I go for e.g. A-line, unstructured, maxi, midi. Always in flats, trainers, chunky brogues, boots.

I would buy the Boden one just to try it - very easy to return and if it's good fit it will be worth the extra £20 odd.

I think that length looks fine with pointy flats (Boden again do some decent ones that aren't too narrow and are flattering) or brogues with a little height, or loafers can all look good with it.
