BIRKenstock soft foot beds?

Are these any good? I know people rave about Birkenstock’s all the time
But I have an issue with the comfort. The raised shaped bit round the toes is always the wrong shape and I find it really uncomfortable, I would prefer the toe part to just be flat
Not shaped. I wonder if the soft footbed is any different, or even if I couldn’t perhaps file the toe part down so it is flat?! It’s a lot of money to spend if I don’t find them comfy

I love my Birkenstocks and have both normal and soft footbed types. However, I think the footbed is different layers and so trying to file it down is likely to ruin the shoe rather than make it any more comfortable. The soft footbed is soft, but not that soft!

You need birkies much bigger than people think- your toes should not touch the raised bit! Look on their website for a pic.

They need to be bigger? I had some birk types last year but the toe thing drove me crazy so I charity shopped them. I thought they fitted properly but the ends of my toes rubbed against the raised part.
If they were bigger then I think they would feel too long. I’m confused.
People tell me they’re so comfy but I just feel it’s a risk as they’re not cheap but I do want some really comfy sandals this year

No no no. Definitely check the pictures the pp mentioned. When you're standing in them you basically need to have a gap all the way around your foot between you and then raised bit.
One of my absolute pet hates
Is seeing people wear too small birkies!
