Flattering cut for a massive underbite. Is there such a thing?

My hair is currently long, bellow boob length, and wavy/curly type 2b ish. Wearing it down is such an event as there is so so so much of it (think Merida). So I wear it back all the time in a messy bun or plait which I know is totally unflattering as it exposes my whole ugly jawline.

I'm thinking of chopping it all off and getting some kind of shortish bob perhaps with a long side swept fringe. Would this be a disaster with a big sticky out chin?

I've attached pics of roughly what I have and what I'm thinking of getting.

Is there a trick to getting the length right so that it would hide part of my jawline without emphasising it?

A Bob where the front part is feathery. Hair is feathered from the ear pointng towards the mouth and shorter at the back. Slightly highlighted in these bits too.

Sorry, I might have got underbite and overbite confused. Ignore me.

I'm thinking I need to add some height and volume at the top to balance things out maybe? My lower jaw and chin sticks out quite a lot

I think it will be quite a blow to go that short after having such long hair, why don’t you go layers and cut just believe your shoulders ? That will give volume but still be longish

Well, I love the cut you're thinking of. I'd be willing to bet your underbite does not look like the first pic :o and probably isn't as noticeable to everyone else as it is to you - but having said that you definitely would feel it was less exposed with the new cut, rather than being tied back.

I just googled celebs with underbites and it gave me Reese Witherspoon, Keira Knightly, and Kate Middleton. Reese and Keira do seem to go for that kind of bob so you might be onto something.

Maybe just make sure it's still long enough to tie up just in case you hate it? But I'd go for it.
