Asos dress attached, ankle length for a chic fancy wedding, to wear in the evening. How would you style it? I would reach for a flower hairband and a thin bolero but would love ideas. Thanks :)

I'd probably go for a steel coloured hair band and an oversized pale jumper for the evening for that cool, baggy look

beenandgoneandbackagain · 05/03/2019 14:07

I'd wear some awesome large earrings, and maybe a bangle.

And of perfectly exfoliated shoulders and arms.

Good tips. Note to self to moisturise dry elbows daily Blush
Didnt think about the baggy jumper thing, sounds chicer that the mink coloured cardi (boden Grin) i have.
And need some neutral chic shoes comfy and safe enough to carry a babe in arms.

Beautiful dress. Sparkly gold sandals and bangles. If you have long hair then up in a loose bun. Short hair delicate tiara/hairband (in which case no bangles) No necklace to detract from the neckline.

Harebellsies · 05/03/2019 17:21

Need to practice the loose bun. Am rubbish at it and stuck in the ‘playground mummy’ look.

Spin pins are really helpful. www.buzzfeed.com/amphtml/peggy/easy-hairstyles-with-spin-pins

You can usually find them in the pound shop too.

Are you going as a normal wedding guest? If so want to avoid looking bridesmaidy (wouldn't do a flower hairband)

TSSDNCOP · 05/03/2019 19:42

Metallic accessories
Biker jacket

Harebellsies · 05/03/2019 19:43

Yes, normal wedding guest but close family. Confused dont know the difference between bridesmaidy and normal pretty-pastel dressing. I suppose bridesmaidy is too much flower-maiden-in-the-meadow going on, which i do actually like. But yes, not the right look so need to be careful.

Thanks mouse - hadn’t used spinpins before ( bit 25 pins) need to get some and practice. Thankyou, i think this will be one of these magic lifechanging tips :)

I don't use them now but they were a lifesaver when I had hip length hair. Three would hold a bun securely all day (and I have thick hair)

Much better than Bobby pins which used to slither down my back under the weight. 😂

Any further inspiration for styling, like a jacket or headband? A Princess Kate headband perhaps, but they are not on the market at affordable prices yet.

Gold gladiator sandals are a must
Long dangling earrings
A simple bangle
I'd get a natural colored shawl.

BlueMerchant · 10/03/2019 09:05

I would keep headwear to a min and wear a loose bun with a pair of dangly shoulder skimming but simple earrings.

Harebellsies · 10/03/2019 12:41

Thank you. Sandals a good idea. I have nice beige pashminas i could use :) then indont need to buy a bolero. Maybe belting the pashmina somehow could be an idea.

A Kate style hairband is too structured anyway I think with this outfit. Why about some artfully inserted sparkly clips/hair adornment thingies with the messy bun?

*How about
