What type of procedure was it?
Were you pleased with the results?
How long did it last?
How much was it?

Thank you.

Zoom. Chair and then take home trays, about £350 from memory
V pleased. I use the trays at home still to top up when I remember

DragonMamma · 03/03/2019 22:47

I use the Oral B whitening strips from the US and they are great.

They were OK beforehand (pretty white but some yellowing on my canines) but I wanted them a bit whiter and lots of my family have commented on the difference.

Eesha · 03/03/2019 22:51

I got trays made up, so just buy the gel from the dentist and use it once a year. Very pleased with results. I paid a very low cost price as I knew the dentist.

Newtobusiness · 03/03/2019 22:59

Enlighten £700
They made trays that fit my teeth perfectly.
Take home gel (one in chair gel session).

Good result but painful so I didn't finish treatment. Felt it was overpriced. Can top up whenever I need in future for £70 or syringe (1 weeks worth)

Drogosnextwife · 03/03/2019 23:02

For people who used gel from the dentist, did it make your teeth very sensitive? It did for me, I can't walk on the carpet anymore without socks because it made my teeth feel funny (I understand how ridiculous that sounds), brushing my teeth gave me the heebie geebies. It was horrible.

SausageSimon · 03/03/2019 23:05

Place marking for this!

Lamkin · 03/03/2019 23:10

I paid £350 through a private dentist a few years ago (I was having other cosmetic treatment).
It took 2 weeks of trays/syringe gel overnight. Then an appointment with dentist to do uv light and stuff at the end.

I wouldn't have it again. The end result was great but my teeth were sooo sensitive for weeks!
It was actually painful to wash dishes, with the cutlery clanking together 🤣

Drogosnextwife · 03/03/2019 23:20

Glad I wasn't the only one 😂

SecretWitch · 03/03/2019 23:24

Uv light thing at dentist. Was afraid of The Ross Effect but teeth came out nice.

Pinkginxx · 03/03/2019 23:28

I had it done at the dentist. Horrendously sensitive (a couple of weeks later I was up in Scotland and couldn’t even open my mouth as the cold air was like daggers). It’s contributed to my phobia of dentists, and you need to keep it up. Within a year teeth were yellowing again just with the added bonus of anything-teeth-related-phobia. I’d think carefully

shakeydrinkey · 04/03/2019 00:08

I had zoom and trays. Think it was around £350. No sensitivity. Great result. I did find sitting in the chair with my mouth open like that for an hour quite uncomfortable by the end is all I would say.

The only time I've had sensitivity is when I bought 35% gel and used it too frequently.

Generally they only use that level in the chair at the dentist and you use 20-15 at home.

ForOldLandsEye · 04/03/2019 00:12

Yes, I had the custom made trays and bleach from my dentist. 1st time was about £300 back in 2000 and again in 2010 for £500. I had slight sensitivity but it soon goes if you use sensitive toothpaste. I went from shade A3 to A1 and from A2 to B1 the second time (stronger stuff for longer). I still do top ups annually at £15 per syringe (16% bleach). I drink tea and coffee so without those my teeth would be gleaming.

CarolSpatula · 04/03/2019 08:31

@Drogosnextwife & @Lamkin did you use the overnight ones? I tried them first and honestly wanted to throw up at the thought of cutlery touching. Think the dentist thought I was really odd. Then I switched to the one-hour a day gels and it was fine!

Drogosnextwife · 04/03/2019 11:25

Yes mine were over nights, my mum had hers done at the same time, and hers were the same. I forgot about cutlery, I remember trying very hard not to let it touch my teeth! Do you get the one hour ones from the dentist aswell?

FurrySlipperBoots · 04/03/2019 11:34

I had Enlighten treatment, where they give you trays to take home. I would be making it up if I told you exactly how much it cost, but I know that 2 rounds came to somewhere between £500 and £1000. People were commenting after the first round (in a good way) but I couldn't see enough of a difference and did another, partly because I was going to have my incisors built up with composite so knew the trays wouldn't fit again after and wanted it to last a while. Actually I think I over whitened them then. They were a bit too 'American' whiteness wise when I was finished though they've calmed down now 18 months later. Pretty pleased with them now. They were never very bad anyway, I was just lacking in confidence after 13 years of botched orthodontist treatment and was clutching at straws for what I could do to make myself feel better. My teeth are certainly more sensitive now, not painful but I am sometimes 'aware' of them!

WholeL0ttaRosie · 04/03/2019 12:02

I paid £200 last year for trays and gel from my dentist. Brand name is Boutique and was a mix of day and night syringes. I found the night time ones difficult, I would wake up with the tray on the bedroom floor (was obviously pulling them out while asleep). No sensitivity and have noticeably whiter teeth, have been very pleased overall.

CarolSpatula · 04/03/2019 12:55

Yes @Drogosnextwife it was the same brand, and got them from the dentist (Boutique). They let me exchange any unopened overnight ones for the 1 hour ones. Couldn’t believe the difference!

Lamkin · 04/03/2019 16:10

@CarolSpatula yep they were the overnight ones too. I walked around my with lips clamped to my teeth for weeks.
Makes me wince thinking about it now.

troppibambini · 04/03/2019 17:34

I use trays and gel. £40 for trays plus ££15 for super fast whitening gel it's very good.

DragonMamma · 06/03/2019 01:30

@EvePolastriBaby

My father brought me back a double jumbo pack from Walmart when he was in the US last. Sorry, not much help!
