Bit confused about botox

I recently had a consultation with a reputable dentist who does Botox in my town. Something I’d never thought I’d consider but I have very, very deep grooves between my eyebrows. I constantly look angry and I hate them..
I am very nervous about it as I am very health conscious. Is it dangerous? I know it’s a small amount but how common is eye dropp and could the whole eye close over? My dentist reassured me but obviously talked about the risks.
Also I hate my frown lines but couldn’t care less about any other lines, I just don’t want to look angry all the time but she said I’d need it i two places as I have bad horizontal lines in my forehead. I don’t care about these and in some ways feel it could be more natural to just leave them but would a practitioner have to treat these in order to support the frown line ones or to avoid a droop?

I'm not an expert but have been having Botox in my 11's for about 10 years. It stops me looking cross.
I ignore my other wrinkles and my Dr has never suggested doing any more.

Ok that is interesting as she sort of made it sound like I’d have to get them done and I think it often looks better when they’re left.

Nope. I've had Botox for 10+ years just for my 11s and not for my horizontal forehead lines. You can absolutely have one without the other.

You can definitely target one area and leave the other wrinkles and the reason they inject in a couple of places is that you need to lift "different bits" to get the desired effect in the bit you want to target.

E.g., I wanted to lift my brow a little because I was getting droppy - but I wasn't concerned about my 11s, forehead or crow's feet and am happy to look like a mid-40s woman in that respect - but I looked so damned tired - wrinkles I don't mind! But she had to inject above the brown (the V bit) and also a tiny bit in the centre to get the desired effect.

So it's lifted my brow as required - and as a side effect I'm very smooth between the brows and can't wrinkle there, but above that it's "normal" and my crow's feet are still in place.

I was terrified I'd be one of the unlucky ones - and of course someone has to be the unlucky bugger. Once in a while you see a sleb pic where it's gone wonky - e.g., about 4 months ago Katie Price looked droopy in one eye as did Kourtney Kardashian. During those periods they tend to face the camera side-on, have a long fringe and/or wear comedy glasses.

Geordie Shore is an excellent example of Botox gone wrong - and the men in it look quite erm... "startling"! Grin

Fwiw I personally went with a dentist and my dentist friends assure me they're the best because they spend 5 years at dental school exclusively studying the face! If someone is taken to hospital with extensive facial injuries they call in a dentist!
