Soooo I know there are much bigger problems in the world and I can live with this but maybe there are some tips out there to make me look and feel slightly better?!!
I am a brunette by nature but a highlighted blond now (well was until I had bubba) now I've got a cruella deville type look. Last had my hair done 6m ago just a couple weeks before baby was born, can't really go hairdressers now as breastfeeding, can't get baby to take a bottle (tried 4 different types and gave up and quite honestly I'm happy to breast feed), also have no family nearby and a hubby that works 7 days a week every week self employed so got no childcare, and Even if none of those things were an issue we are poor so I wouldn't want to be spending what I was whilst working on vanity stuff.

So what have others done?! I used to use dye at home kits whilst at school but only to go darker or red, not sure what to do now I'm half brown, half blond?!!

If there's nothing you can do cheaply/at home that's fine, I'll grow it out and when bubba is weaned I'll get a Home hairdresser one evening and maybe do balayage so it's a lot less maintenance....

You can 100% take a tiny breastfed baby to the hairdressers - it would be completely ridiculous and also discriminatory not to allow you to do so. I did, and so did lots of other people I know. Just get it done! Maybe there’s a better value salon locally? Otherwise yes a home hairdresser is a great idea, no need to wait until weaning - it’s a baby not a rabid monster.

Look for a mobile hairdresser (no need to wait till baby is weaned though?)

Mobile hairdresser

bubbaba · 02/03/2019 17:16

I was just worried hairdresser might get annoyed with me having to deal with him crying or feeding whilst she's doing my hair?! I don't want to put people out!

I wouldn't take a baby to the hairdresser. If s/he cried the whole time it would be rubbish for everyone else. I'm a parent and love kids and totally understand that they cry, but my trip to the hairdresser is rare "me time". I'd be gutted if it was spent with screamy baby.

I would try a mobile hairdresser.

I was just thinking weaned so that he could be looked after by someone. I've got a lot of thick hair and it usually takes Just under 4 hours!

Not sure how to reply to people directly - today is my first posts!

My baby likes activity so maybe I'll try a mobile hairdresser for just a cut to start with and see how that goes, then all being well move on to highlights 😊

I wouldn't take a little baby to the hairdresser for a long appointment involving lots of chemicals

Mobile hairdresser would be ideal, but you cold also look at touching up your roots yourself - even if you dont' completely cover them, you could tone down the difference between the colours. Get yourself a root brush (they are a couple of quid in Superdrug) to get the best result

Have a look at Bleach London, they do some highlighter kits which look good. I’ve not used them but worth a look.

Def mobile hairdresser. I started using mine so I didn't have to take DS with me to a salon. Also they are usually cheaper as they don't have salon overheads to cover.
