new me plan - help needed!

background - have had year from hell (lots of posting so changed names!)

I have a new job to start in 6 weeks which will hopefully be a new start in lots of different ways for me (relationship issues, v bad health)

I have anxiety and am battling imposter syndrome already! I thought I will use this time to get well in mind and body. long run, I need to lose three stone. I've been very ill, better now but I look ragged. I have thinning hair (grey routes/home dyed ends), sallow skin - rosacea flare ups becoming more frequent and generally don't feel good about myself.

I would like to (in six weeks!) lose some weight, feel more attractive, feel more confident in how I look and how I am.

I'm quite methodical minded and was hoping some wise souls would be able to out a six week plan together for me i.e. week five (hair cut) that kind of thing, to help me prepare.

would really appreciate any thoughts or suggestions. Am looking forward to a new me, a better me and a much happier me.

Congratulations on the new job, sounds like things are turning around for you. If I were you I would get a haircut now and rebook for a trim and colour just before you start, if funds allow. You could also look at doing a few at home deep conditioning treatments, I don't have any recommendations as I need to find a good one myself!

I would also start C25k, while it may not help with weight (it didn't for me) it did give me more confidence generally, it's a nine week programme so you would be more than halfway through it before you started. You could combine this with a six week healthy eating plan, I'm sure there are a few online.

I would also in the next couple of weeks look at your clothes and maybe work out what you will wear for the whole of the first week, this will give you time to figure out if you need anything.

There were a few threads on this kind of thing out on here. My suggestions, good haircut and colour, eyebrows and face threaded, nails polished, maybe get make over somewhere like MAC to get an idea of what might suit you. I recently got a few lipsticks there and amazing what a difference it makes, plus good mascara etc. Weight loss, again look at threads here but my friend has lost loads through 4L of water daily, long lunchtime walks, no junk or sweets, and she eats very little carbs. Maybe one of these tips might work. Also try a free personal shopper somewhere where you like, I did Reiss ages ago though spent a lot but great for ideas.

I prioritized my hair last, got berated on here, did my colour and cut and it looks fantastic! So my big advice is hair first!

thanks both!

have no idea where to start with hair. am thinking lighter may help with greys. haven't been to salon for such a long time

I would read some reviews of hair salons near you and book in for a consultation somewhere. I did this recently as I needed a patch test first and the stylist was so excited to be doing a whole new look. She even took before and after pictures!

Also- yes to eyebrows! They make such a difference.

I agree, go get some consultations or check out Pinterest to see what you like. I really wanted a sexy look when I revamped my look so I told the hairdressers exactly that.

Eyebrows - v important but easy and cheap to sort out

Outfits - plan first two weeks of outfits, right down to shoes/coat etc. it should show you what items you need to buy to fill in any gaps (it's often decent shoes)
Then plan some basics and shop specifically for what you need (rather than just wandering around the shops)

Diet - try walking first thing every morning for 30 mins as fast as you comfortably can. Then try to avoid all sugar and all carbs after lunch - it's the fastest sensible way to lose some weight quickly without depriving yourself/being totally militant.

Get a facial now then another a week before you start

Get gel/shellac nails a few days before (just nude if you don't like colour) Helps you look pulled together

And agree with the above who said hair now, then refresh if you can. Or consultation now, then book in for 2/3 weeks from now. You can buy cheap home root touch up kits, you don't need to go to the hairdresser overtime your greys grow back
