Breastfeeding friendly wedding outfit

Have several weddings coming up where I’ll be bringing my baby who will be breastfeeding. Expecting them to be very dressy. Has anyone seen any nice dresses that are not also maternity with easy breast access? Or nice skirt/top combos?

Currently size 14/16 but hopefully 12/14 by the first wedding in 2 months. Hourglass shaped but post 2 c-sections belly is not the best. Thighs are enormous also. As are upper arms so prefer to be well covered!

Wrap dresses are your best friend! Super easy to feed in, magics up a waist and hides all sorts of bumps. Just stay clear of anything too clingy

It can be hard to find non-maternity breastfeeding dresses, ime. Wrap dresses are a good option, but 'real' wrap dresses are sometimes hard to find (vs. the ones that look like a wrap dress in the styling).

Would something like this work, OP? There are a few colours available:

Thanks to both of you- I love a wrap dress but finding a properly dressy true wrap dress isn’t easy without going down the dvf route! I think the mamalicious one is too narrow around hip and thigh to work on me and I do fear the gathering around the tummy highlighting it!

A skirt and blouse will probably work better unless you want to buy a breastfeeding dress (which are very frumpy designs I found). Added advantage is you can buy different sizes top and bottom. A large scarf is a good option for discrete feeding. I went to several including my own - the only time I wore a dress was my wedding and it was annoying having to undo it to feed (upstairs because no way of being discrete)

I bought an off the shoulder Bardot style one last year that could be just pulled down when I needed to feed and it worked really well, if you fancied one like that?

This site usually has some nice dressy pieces: www.milkandmummy.com/breastfeeding-clothes/breastfeeding-dresses

There is a really helpful Facebook group called Can I Breastfeed in it? UK and it has lots of advice/ ideas on outfits from othet breastfeeding mums. I can highly recommend.

Joanie clothing have a breastfeeding friendly edit on their Facebook page. There might be something there for you. Not sure how dressy they are though.

Yes can I breastfeed in it Facebook site it great. Lots of "normal" dresses can be used with breastfeeding, wrap dresses, straps you can pull aside, I used to bring a scarf to drape down the middle whilst feeding so that there was a bit less flesh showing!

spugzbunny · 27/02/2019 19:57

Slightly different but fir my own wedding dress I had a lace panel put across the top so I could access the boobs. If you found something that could be altered, you could either ass a panel or a hidden zip under your boobs?

spugzbunny · 27/02/2019 19:58

ADD! not ass! Blush

DontFundHate · 27/02/2019 20:55

Ooh yes or a few years ago there were loads of dresses which looked a bit like separate skirt and top but it was a dress. You could easily buy one of those and cut holes in under the top layer. Just googled it - layered dresses www.lilbitsofchic.com/2014/06/layered-dresses-illusion-separates.html?m=1

I got a good nursing dress from asos for a wedding. They had a few and actually I could wear it again as it is not obvious it is for nursing.
