Work shoes?

I’m returning to an office job after several years out with babies and sick children. I need new shoes for work but I have no idea what’s right to wear anymore. The office is smart casual. I have a very tight budget but would rather spend a little bit more on shoes that will last and wear well.

Whats your budget? Decent loafers are great (russell and bromley?) and go with skirts and slim trousers - i wear them pair pretty much every day!

I have all bases covered with a pair of loafers, some suede high heeled court shoes and (occasionally) a pair of ankle boots.

I use russell and bromley, m&s and clarks for work shoes.

Thanks!!

I would normally not spend more than £50 on shoes but can push that for one decent pair....

I hadn’t thought of Russel and Bromley but that’s a good shout

R&B are hardly budget 🤔

I think something like this is pretty versatile, stylish and goes with most outfits www.next.co.uk/g62126s4#626306

The next shoes are nice thanks. Are heels still in?

Russell and Bromley for a tight budget? Confused

I get my work shoes from Clarks. I like their loafers and brogues. Flats all the way for me but I’m on my feet all day.

I don't know if heels are 'in' or not. I'm too old to care about such stuff! They're pretty timeless tho right? I mean, surely if they go with the outfit.....Heels might not be your thing or you might prefer flats for comfort etc but I can't imagine a day when heels aren't 'in'. What do I know tho.

Brogues, but the more Feminine style; less chunky. Clarks have a good range usually

What will you be wearing?

Twickerhun · 25/02/2019 10:29

I’m planning on wearing dresses - I have some old Hobbs shift dresses (black and grey) and a couple of more dressed down joules blue floral dresses. Would Brough’s be to clumpy?

Excuse the typos

No, that’s the sort of thing I wear brogues with.
