Getting rid of sebaceous filaments

TheEndofIt · 24/02/2019 20:42

Finally, in my mid 40's, I am realising that what I thought were blackheads are actually sebaceous filaments.

And I'd like to try & get rid of them.

I've started using 2% salicylic acid (The Ordinary) but have heard some about clay masks & microfibe (?) type cloths. Just not sure what brands/types.

Any recommendations?

The 2% salicylic from the ordinary is really a spot treatment, not something to use across a larger area of the face. Paula’s choice does a 2% BHA lotion that is applied to the skin on a cotton pad and is good for reducing SFs over time, along with effective cleansing and avoiding other products that clog the pores.
The technique below is a good routine to do each week. You’ll need a 2% BHA, like the Paula’s choice I mentioned, a clay mask and an oil cleanser. Simple do a cheap oil cleanser that would work.

Thanks for that! I'd been applying the salicylic acid to my nose & chin Blush so will try to get some of the Paula's choice.

Paula's Choice 2% did it for me!

I've just ordered some!

And a Dermaflannel (did a search on old threads & it seemed to be recommended a lot).

I'm 47 and mine went about 2 years ago. As a sporner I kind of miss them. Sad
