Rose Gold necklace suggestions wanted please

For my upcoming 60th I'd like to treat myself to a fairly simple necklace in 9ct or 18ct rose gold (not vermeil or plate) which I can wear every day.

I'd like something with a decently strong chain and I can spend up to £2k as a result of selling some other items. I normally wear no jewellery apart from earrings, but have wanted to find a necklace for a while.

Choosing rose gold seems to be quite limiting though as there is far more choice in yellow gold or silver. I've looked at Monica Vinader which was OK, but there must be more out there which I am missing and I'd be very grateful for any other suggestions.

What about something like this but on a rose gold chain?

Phil Jennings works mainly doing bespoke pieces for the big name jewellers - Bulgari, Graff, etc - but he also does his own small handmade collection such as the necklace above. He works out of London Rocks in Hatton Garden so if you're near London, you could even meet face-to-face and commission something from him or one of the other designer-makers there (such as Karl Karter). Just to be clear that I have no affiliation with London Rocks other than being a very happy client!!

Thank you that is a good suggestion.

I bought my daughter this for a big birthday, she wears it every day and it is really stunning when the light catches it - it is plain on the other side so can be worn either way

I have a friend who's a jeweller, she makes some beautiful things and does bespoke pieces to order too. Her website is www.oaklandjewellery.com

To get rose gold, gold is dipped into gold-copper alloy so therefore after some time it wears off. Do you really want to invest in something you repeatedly have to get re dipped and isn't actually pure gold.

TantricTwist · 26/02/2019 12:49

It's not always dipped but it is always a gold / copper mix

I'd recommend an independent jeweller, particularly as you seem to know what you want. Most high streets should have one.

Even if they don't make it themselves (unlikely for a chain I'd imagine), a good one will keep an eye out for you when they go to the wholesalers. I've had my favourite jewellery pieces this way. There's also no pressure to buy if they bring back something you don't like, they then just sell it in the shop. They're also a mine of information have often give really good recommendations of you're open to that

Thank you everyone, some good suggestions which have given me some more avenues to explore. I must admit, I do like the Boodles piece but I'd like to explore some variations on it.

Yes I'm looking for the solid rose gold rather than plate or vermeil, I want it to last.

Marla Aaron does a lot of rose gold options, and lots of different styles of chain and clasp. Not to everyone's taste but I love mine.
