Facial hair - ruined my skin

I have black facial hair. It’s fine hair - but got lots so i can’t ignore it. I learnt threading a few months ago, it helps me keep on top of chin and upper lip hair. Over the years, I really struggled with finding a decent solution for sideburns and cheek hair. I have a home wax set up, but waxing didn’t get all the hair out. It also ruined my skin :( I have a lot of pigmentation now. Last week I bought those wax pellets, omg, they were so hard on my skin and still didn’t get all the hair out. (I think I didn’t get the technique right tbh)
I had a braun epilator (normal one) and it was ok but left bumps when it pulled hair out.

Please can someone help me. I see that the bendy thing has a lot of good feedback. I will try that today.
Is facial epilator any good??

The bendy thing is like a long spring that you you roll across your face and it pulls out everything in its wake . Its like threading but easier when you get to grips with it. They have them in boots.

@BusterGonad I'm very freckly and it works fine for me, but then I suppose where I'm using it (upper lip/chin, underarms) I'm not as freckly as the rest of my face and arms.

@MumUndone I've ckecked - the bendy thing is called the Tweezerman Smooth Finish Facial Hair Remover. They are in Boots, Amazon etc. I bought mine after reading rave reviews on here actually. I'm not crazy about it but I'll stick with it for the time being.

I think the bendy thing is called an epistick.

Razor & IPL.

Lumea saved my life!

EntirelyAnonymised · 26/02/2019 21:14

IPL isn’t permanent but it seriously reduces hair growth and once the initial 12 week course is complete, only needs top up sessions every three or so months. Brilliant. I use the Philips Lumea, quick and easy. I’ve had it for a couple of years now and it’s still charging and working perfectly. Expensive but brilliant investment.

Thank you VERY much. I used the bendy U thingy today and it’s AMAZING! For the first time ever, I felt in control over my facial hair.

I just have to spend 5mins every day on it for the next week or so and then once every few days in maintenance mode. LOVE IT!!

Does the bendy thing hurt OP? I get my upper lip threaded but will get one of these if they're any good and not too painful.

BusterGonad · 27/02/2019 12:02

Gina I thought it was also a health thing, as in its bad for skin with freckles/beauty marks and moles?

CabbageHippy · 27/02/2019 12:05

how does the bendy thing work? I have one but it just doesn't seem to get anything so I must be doing it wrong

Amortentia · 27/02/2019 12:17

I must have zero tolerance to pain because those bendy hair removers kill me. Much easier to use the eyebrow razor things and go over dry skin with them.

WildCherryBlossom · 28/02/2019 08:52

@CabbageHippy you have to twist the ends. It took me a while to figure out - no instructions! I thought I was supposed to bend it back and forth... good luck!

CabbageHippy · 28/02/2019 11:57

@WildCherryBlossom - thanks, i'll give it another go as I think i'm a little bit scared of it & worried about getting my skin caught in it (if that's possible?)
