To ask for bra sizing help?!

So I've had myself measured but I've been told various sizes to try, as far as I'm aware you can't try on heaps of sizes due to hygiene issues so what do I do?

Underbust is 34 inches
Fullest part of the boob is 37 inches

I used to wear maternity 36 C bras but now I don't fill them so this can't be my size but I was told in the shop that it is, every calculator seems to suggest it as well Confused

34C

34 as that's your under bust measurement
3 inch difference between under and over bust = C cup

I agree it's 34C. Don't forget you need to consider shape. I am very full in the bottom part of my boobs so a balconette bra fits me best. Some have narrow wires for boobs that are narrow in width and some wide. Some come up high if you are fuller on top. None lined bras tend to be more forgiving than lined. Also make sure you scoop your boobs in.

One thing I always forget is that a new bra should be done up on the loosest hook. This is because it will stretch over time and then you need to tighten it to the tighter hooks.

You can try on as many bras as you like, no issue there.
You just have to keep trying until you get one that fits as the sizes (like clothes sizes) aren't 100% standardised and different shaped bra come up very differently depending on your shape.
I have big boobs and have to try loads of different bras in different sizes and styles as I'm looking for maximum support and comfortable as possible which isn't easy to find.
I tend to go to John Lewis or similar, and can try as many as 25 bras until I find one that fits well tragic . I then usually buy more in the same size online when I get home as most stores don't carry all the colour ways in every size, and once I find a bra I like I usually get 4 to last me a year or so if possible.

Is the bust measurement taken with you bending over at a right angle or standing upright? If it’s an upright measurement, take the measurement again with you bent over at the waist as that may give you a different, bugger busy measurement.

Ffs autocorrect; different BIGGER BUST measurement

Jeackyll · 22/02/2019 07:25

e.g. if I took that measurement tanning upright on me it would make me a 32 DD or E, but that would be way too small in the cup. Bending over, the measurement goes up 3 inches making me a 32FF/G which fits far better.

Have a look at Boob or Bust. That changed me from a 36/38B to a 34DD and the difference is amazing!

I do try on different sizes when I buy bras as there are some variations between brands and bra types.

Boob or bust says 34 B Confused

How much is the 36C too big in the cup? Cupwise that's equivalent to a 34D, so a 34C will be smaller and 34B smaller still. No harm in trying both sizes!

dementedpixie · 22/02/2019 11:51

Just try both sizes as its just a guide not an exact science.

RubyRedBerry · 22/02/2019 13:55

The bit in the middle of your bra should be lying flat against your chest bone, the cup should not be on boob at the sides (hope that makes sense) it should be touching the rib, and lastly you should be able to put 2 fingers under it (so its not too tight).
