What do you wear with flat shoes for work?

As in, what do you wear under the shoe? Do you go barefoot? If so, how do you stop the shoe smelling?

I thought I hated liners until I tried the h&m ones. The material is slightly different around the seam, flatter, and it stays in place with the clear grips
