Stupidly stood on my GHDs this morning really heavily and they're totally cracked. Still turning on but since I can see all the wires I think they're probably not safe. I've had them nearly ten years but bought them pre DC when I was loaded. Not sure I want to spend £80 on new ones but it used to be that ghd were the holy grail. Anyone got any that they really like that aren't quite so pricey please?

I have the new GHD's, Corioliss and Cloud 9 hair straighteners. Cloud 9's are my favourites. New GHD's least favourites.

DD has Cloud 9's & I prefer them to GHD's... probably should get around to buying my own when she moves out

My Cloud 9s are much better than my GHDs

Babyliss radiance. Have been using these for several years. Tried someone's ghds for the first time today. I prefer the babyliss ones!

Lovely thanks all. I'll go and have a look at cloud 9 and babyliss now!

Mine are babyliss pro230 radiance - shiny red. Not sure that they make them anymore as they are several years old. They have bigger plates than the ghd which is good for my thick hair, but no good for curling if you want to do that with them too. However as a brand babyliss have been very reliable.
