Radical style change?

Since my long marriage fell apart my clothes have changed so radically. My clothes before were ok, but usually quite cheap. Often quite dark and definitely designed to hide as I was conscious about my weight. My wardrobe is now a Colour explosion! Yep, I have quite a lot of sea salt. Very little Boden as it doesn't fit me well. I love Uniqlo but it is too hard to get here. But my fave is an Australian label called Lazybones. To day I am wearing a really colourful organic cotton sundress made from four different prints and with a tie waist with my hair, which is far longer than it has been in years, in a bun. I am a world away from the black T-shirts of my marriage. Has anyone else liberated their style?

I realised about a year ago that I was dressing to not be seen. Dark colours and baggy clothes. I've made a real effort to start to rebuild my wardrobe recently. But it's slow going, I'm pretty skint at the moment. I actually have a lovely dress that I recently bought from an aussie shop called Dangerfield. I had to go down 3 sizes from what I'd been previously wearing to get a dress that actually fitted.

I went the opposite direction - felt I'd got too close to middle age respectable - nice bobbed blonde hair, frocks, heels. So I buzz cut and bleached my hair, got rid of over half my wardrobe and switched to only buying clothes I absolutely love which tend to be simple but well cut blues/blacks/whites.
I'm feeling much more like 'me' than who
I felt 'I should be'.

i’m considering a radical hair cut. my hair is to my waist, in very good condition and an auburn-y colour, but i keep imagining myself with a lovely sleek brown bob with a fringe. the last time i had short hair and a fringe was when i was 13 and got all my hair cut off and instantly regretted it. but with three kids, one of them only a few months old, i just don’t have to time or the patience for the upkeep of very long hair. decisions, decisions...

I know what you mean about invisible. You get to a certain age and you are just not seen any more. I too have a hair decision to make. Either grow it (it will need colour though) or have it chopped back into a choppy chin length bob or go short.
