I'm just not getting on with underwired bras at the moment. Can anyone recommend a very supportive bra without? I'm a size 38g/gg

Freya Deco soft cup is comfortable and supportive (32G).

ThanksItHasPockets · 14/02/2019 19:49

Molke.

KatharinaRosalie · 14/02/2019 19:53

I was sceptical but have been very impressed with Molke as well.

ihatethecold · 14/02/2019 19:59

I’m interested in this.
I can’t stand bras anymore since I became peri menopausal.
I’m the same size as usual but they are unbearable.

beeyourself · 14/02/2019 22:43

I'm skeptical about molke - how can jersey cotton give enough support?? But I've order one to try- thank you!

I bought two - Triumph Doreen and Playtex 18 Hour - to wear under vintage clothes and I ended up wearing them every day under everything. They're pointier than, say, a T-shirt bra, but unless I'm wearing something very thin or clingy you don't really notice. The 18 Hour one with the little pads on the straps is particularly comfortable. They aren't very glamorous if you're not into that pinup/underwear catalogue look.

M & S Sumptuously Soft. I bought one to slob around in at home as I always wear underwired but now have a few and wear them under everything except very fitted stuff. I’m a 34 F/G.

@thefirstmrsdewinter thank you, have been looking for these pointy vintage styles without much luck!!

ihatethecold · 15/02/2019 08:18

Does anyone know how I can get a promotional/ discount code/ free delivery for Molke? Ive tried googling.

ThanksItHasPockets · 15/02/2019 09:55

@ihatethecold Molke are a very small business and their pieces reflect the fact that the bras are handmade in Scotland. You could join their Facebook group and see if anything comes up but it’s my experience that reductions are infrequent and pounced upon when they do take place.

ihatethecold · 15/02/2019 12:36

I’ve just bought 2 sumptuously soft bras from M and S. one traditional and another more like a sleep lounging type one.
Thanks for the recommendation MrsFezziwig

ihatethecold · 15/02/2019 12:36

Thanks Pockets. I thought as much.

thefirstmrsdewinter · 15/02/2019 15:21

Elllllle how pointy do you want to go? Grin Those styles aren't very pointy. They are very supportive and they bring the breast up and forward so you fit better into those high bust darts. When everything is sort of under your nose :) your waist and the sides of the body are revealed, which I think is very flattering.
If you're looking for something properly bullet-shaped, try What Katie Did.
I once found a great blog post on bras for vintage clothes. I'll see if I can track it down.

Elllllle · 16/02/2019 00:43

thefirst I owned a not-too-pointy but pointier than most vintage type bra about 10 yrs ago which was super flattering. Ive been trying to replace it on and off since it died. Unfortunately I'm finding it hard to find the Doreen or the Playtex one in stock in a 32E. Will look at the What Katie Did bras thank you!

reallyanotherone · 16/02/2019 00:45

I’d just go for something like a shock absorber sports bra.

I am looking for something very soft for lounging in though. Doesn’t need to be as supportive. Will check the recs :)

beeyourself · 16/02/2019 00:50

I've been wearing shock absorbers to give my body a rest from wired bras! Hoping to get something a bit nicer to do the job though

Update - the molke bra has arrived but isn't right for me - this is why i need adjustable straps, it was way too short for me.

The search continues...
