Smart work trousers that control & hold in flabby thighs?

I'm desperately trying to find some work trousers that will control my thighs, they are flabbier and bigger than I thought they were and all work trousers I've tried look absolutely horrendous and my thighs look huge and wobble when I move.

I've been used to wearing skinny jeans made with quite thick denim which have disguised how much weight I've put on over the last couple of years. I would love to be able to just wear black jeans for this new job but I can't, it has to be proper smart work trousers.

Does anyone know of anywhere I can get trousers with reinforced thighs that will compress and control the flab? I was hoping that Spanx would do some but their shapewear trousers only seem to have a tummy control panel but not the thigh bit? I have tried so many trousers over the last week, but they all look hideous and I'm starting my new job in two weeks, I'm really getting desperate!

I really like Gaps curve skinny ankle pants. They have enough stretch and thickness to control things. They’re comfy and wash very well and don’t lose their shape throughout the day.

Just remember I have these from Oasis too. Again they have stretch, hold their shape, wash well and if the length is ok for work I really find them flattering. I’m only 5’ so they’re normal length on me rather than ankle.

Could you try support tights under the thinner trousers? Or would wide leg trousers suit you? And possibly lots of squats and lunges over the next 2 weeks? Also I am told Boden Richmond trousers are very good.

I have this problem. Other than jeans, the only trousers I can wear seem to be wide-leg palazzo pants type ones in black. I just wear dresses to work now.

Your post wasn't quite clear - is the dress code black trousers, or are you just looking for some to be part of your work wardrobe?

Does it have to be trousers or can you wear smart skirts / dresses - which is what I did for quite a few years of my working life when trousers were a no for flabby thigh reasons? Or skinny trousers with long tops/ tunics? In no to both of those how about shapewear underneath trousers - you get ones which are like long shorts from uniqlo for not too much, they're quite comfortable and made from thin stretchy fabric.
