What to wear in Disney World if you have thunder thighs?

SippingSipsmith · 12/02/2019 18:28

I’m going to Disney and it’s going to be hot and I have thunder thighs!

I bought some Hush denim shorts but they don’t look right (and are slightly tight on legs and loose if anything on waist) as they cut me in the widest part of my body. Though I may keep as they are alright!

I just don’t know what to wear for 2 weeks when it’s going to be 29 degrees. I can’t wear Stan smiths and sun dresses the whole time as don’t have enough dresses that go with trainers and will have severe thigh chaffage!!

Any ideas? Different shorts?!

Harem pants might work but the last pair I tried made me look like a pirate.

Please help and send links or I may consider lipo!!!

Last time I went I bought a load of these on eBay and just wore cotton cycling shorts underneath - definitely the most comfortable I've ever been there. Doing the same next time we go.

Believe me, as a size 12-14 you'll be positively tiny over there!

SherlockSays · 12/02/2019 19:16

^I wore them with converse

SippingSipsmith · 12/02/2019 19:30

They look really pretty Sherlock and definitely sort of thing I'd wear again. Need some chaffage pants then haha

the most important thing is comfort good shoes, floaty dresses and comfy cotton shorts .You will be walking a lot just remember to also pack a rain poncho when it rains it pours

youarenotkiddingme · 12/02/2019 19:44

I was also going to suggest cotton cycling shorts under a dress.

Decathlon do some nice soft 3/4 yoga pants which are cool to wear so it may be worthwhile thinking outside the box!

Babygrey7 · 12/02/2019 19:51

I'd wear those really loose fitting viscose thai or yoga style pants , they are like harem pants but better

Also called festival trousers, I think, on Amazon Grin

Loose and comfy,

RomaineCalm · 12/02/2019 20:53

Have had some very similar to these - comfortable, loose and dry quickly. I wear with a cotton vest or sleeveless top and converse.

Size 14 isn’t thunder thighs! I am sure you will look lovely whatever you wear.

Betty777 · 12/02/2019 21:19

Chino shorts - like these M&S. These can look cute with one turn up and nice tops. Wear with Converse/Vans type trainers www.marksandspencer.com/l/women/shorts

A denim skirt?

Mixingitall · 12/02/2019 21:23

I have the hush shorts and some knee length shorts from Dorthy Perkins, that look much better! I have larger thighs and am a classic pear shape and they look lovely. I also wore them in Disney in August and they were super comfy!

Skinandbones · 12/02/2019 21:29

Evans do linen blend trousers and shorts, elasticated waist and nice and loose, crop one too.

Pinkruler · 12/02/2019 21:42

I wore longish cotton shorts from fat face- they came to just above the knee. Also wore knee length cotton skirts. On feet ppl wore anything from flip flops to trainers - a lot wore walking sandals. Its true to say No one is that bothered what you wear. Comfort is all

SippingSipsmith · 12/02/2019 21:47

Thank you mixingitall if they worked for you there is hope for me! Blocked out tomorrow for online shopping thanks for all of the comments.

Walking sandals are a whole other thread but yes I need! I was eyeing up a pair of saltwater tan sandals but not keen on the ankle strap that cuts chunky legs and make appear shorter! Not sure if I like proper walking sandals but think I might have to for this trip. Bloody feet don't look good on anyone! Grin

Size 14? You'll look like a stick insect at Disney World!

BaconAndAvocado · 12/02/2019 22:01

Re Disney footwear, walking sandals are definitely the way to go.

Utterly hideous but oh so comfy in that heat Grin

Musicalstatues · 12/02/2019 22:03

Fat face do really nice glory cotton shorts. Not that big a selection at the moment but they have these which I think are really nice.
I have a few similar pairs that I always take out there with me.

Musicalstatues · 12/02/2019 22:04

Glory = floaty!

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 12/02/2019 22:09

Honestly, you’ll be so hot and dripping with sweat that you won’t care what you look like. I’m a size 16 bottom and I found I could wear floaty dresses because my thighs were constantly sweaty and therefore self lubricated. Grin

Seriously though, it’s either baking hot or pissing it down. Dress for comfort.

Holidayshopping · 12/02/2019 22:19

I wear strappy dresses and Birkies when we go! All comfy and look nice :)

lol when i was that size and visiting america i struggled to find my size clothes in gap

Felicia4 · 15/02/2019 12:08

Jumpsuits in the right material are my godsend when I visit hot countries and want to cover up a bit.

BigFatBloomers · 15/02/2019 12:50

Dorothy Perkins is always really good for longer than average cotton shorts.

Peopleplease · 15/02/2019 15:29

Gap actually have a sale on shorts at the moment (or did when I looked a few days ago anyway)

Ivegotthree · 15/02/2019 19:54

I have never seen such fat people as I did at DisneyWorld. Memorable.

You will probably feel quite thin!
