Zero is unrealistic for 12 months for me so I'm trying to do minimum spend. I've not bought anything yet in 2019. Anyone else doing this and want support/ tip sharing.

Ive been tempted but so far I'm feeling good about not having purchased.

Haven't bought anything since spending my Christmas money.
I am amazed I've lasted so long. Shopping for clothes had gone a long way past 'need'. It had become too much of a pastime. I have a wardrobe (or two) full of lovely things which I will wear until something is needing to be replaced.

Hmm we may have to disagree about bags LanaorAna2 Grin but yeah I forgot about underwear, bras in particular. I think if you're wearing a decent bra you can often get away with cheaper fabrics on top.

I'm trying to spend less on clothes. I usually just buy what I like and normally spend around £40/£50
However, I am one for a bargain and I always look in the sale first. When it comes to trousers I pay more because of my height. Tesco have fabulous jeans, and I love new look black skinny trousers.

Inspired by this thread I have splashed out on the £100 boots I've been eyeing up for the last two years.

I really struggle to spend large amounts like that because I'm a charity shop regular (my current boots cost £5 and are on their third winter). But I'm very fussy about footwear and can't rely on getting that lucky again! I know that on a cost-per-wear basis they'll be worth every penny.

I think the big problem with my clothes shopping is my second-hand shopping habit. I've got into the habit of rarely buying anything new so when I actually, genuinely need to spend more I have a really hard time justifying it!
