Dressing after having a baby

My DS is a week old and slowly but surely I'm gaining the confidence to leave the house with him! None of my pre pregnancy clothes fit and when I was pregnant I lived in leggings and stretchy long vests which are not flattering in the slightest on my post partum tummy! Any advice on where to start with my new wardrobe essentials? I don't want to buy too much as hoping to lose some baby weight but need some new essential pieces that I can mix and match. I'm a 14, pear shaped if that helps!

My little one is now 15 weeks old and since she was born I’ve been living in the marks and spencers £15 jeggings. They are amazing! A fair few of the mums at the groups I go to have bought them after my raving about them and love them too, they hold in the post baby jiggle without making you feel like you’ve been shrink wrapped! They also wash really well and don’t bag at the knees 👍. On my top half I’ve been wearing some loose longline checked shirts from primark over my longline vests (I too lived in vests and leggings while pregnant). I found Primark really is worth a trip to for top half clothes to tide you over till you’re back in your old clothes. Congratulations on your little one! Xx

Congrats! I'm 12 weeks post birth and put on (stretchy) pre-pregnancy jeans after 6 weeks. In that first few weeks though I wore Hush joggers (any slim-fitting joggers with a wide waistband will do), Converse, longline vests and a cardigan. Also slouchy sweatshirt dresses, leggings and ankle boots.
