The life-changing magic of a home keratin treatment

Just that really. I have thin, highlighted slightly wavy mid-length hair with damaged ends which frizzes at the slightest hint of moisture in the air and looks like Worzel Gummidge when I wake up in the morning. I have to wash it every day, and I have wasted £££ on lotions and potions which don't work. Frizz-ease, I am looking at you....

I bought the purple home keratin treatment that comes up first on Amazon in November but put off trying it until after Xmas as I thought it would be a faff. Not so - absolutely everything's in the box. Took about an hour from start to finish, did not smell horrible or fill the air with fumes (smells pleasantly of chocolate/vanilla) and was easy to do on my own. Couldn't bear to leave it in for 3 days but I managed 2. Am washing daily as usual with the recommended salt-free shampoo and conditioner. And reader, it bloody well works! It is not poker straight, but that's not what I wanted. I just wanted hair that did not turn into candyfloss as soon as I left the house. I can wash and blowdry it quickly with no products and it stays looking that way all day. No frizz even in wet and windy weather. A miracle.

Just felt the need to share. Don't care if it doesn't last 3 months - I'l get 3 more treatments out of my £25 kit and it's so little trouble I'll happily do it monthly. Haven't used my straighteners since.

Mine was highlight and shoulder length, ended up snapping off in my hand. It’s taken me four years to get it back. Never again

I had a supposedly organic keratin treatment a few years back. Later on I found formaldehyde has various names.

This article is interesting I wouldn't do it at home

Well I'm happier with it than I have been with any other treatment, but obvs it's up to the individual to weigh up any risks and what works for their hair. For me it's great not having to use straighteners daily or waste money on oils or pots of dimethicone gunk that don't work for my hair. Mine actually seems stronger with less breakage - less heat damage and brushing I assume.
