I really need advice, having always sworn I'd not dye and would go grey gracefully now it's come to it I'm suddenly reluctant. I only have a wee smattering of grey but it is starting to show - but will dye make my overall colour flat? I have quite distinctive reddish hair which I'm very fond of - will I loose my natural colour if I dye it? or will it be worse if I don;t? and what do I do when I decide I'm too old, look daft and ought to go grey - can i get it blended in somehow? I've never dyed my hair in my lofe so this is a bg decision for me. I don;t even know what things like "high-lights" "lo-lights" etc mean. One of the things on my hairdressers list was a "gloss" what on earth is that?

don't know what a gloss is - though it's probably like a glaze of colour (temporary). Why not see a hairdresser to discuss hi or lo lights - these would blend into your natural colour, lifting the colour generally and adding texture and depth, witrhout changing the colour completely, plus there is no horrible regrowth lines as with an overall colour. I'd advise going for it as it really perks a person of a certain age up (I'm 48 and have been having this done for ages!)
