Morning! I am a self confessed cosmetics junky, worked in the industry for years before I had my children so a bit out of touch now.
I wear a full face every day. Can do it in about 20 mins and enjoy the process of doing it. I wear double wear foundation I like the full look.
However, I have just discovered I am pg with surprise baby number 3. My 20 min make up mornings are soon to be over I fear, even if it temporarily. So I’m looking to overhaul my routine. My skin isn’t bad as I have a bit of Botox and filler and a good routine, but I look knackered. And probably more knackered in a few months time.
So what are your recommendations ladies? I’m thinking a very lovely tinted moisturiser? Very glowy but good coverage? Does that exist? One hell of a concealer for the eye bags is needed and a decent mascara? I blusher to make me look alive then out the door on the school run. Can you help me please?

OP, what's your skin tone?

Re tinted try laura mercier.
Re concealer my holy grail is urban decay (i go a shade lighter)
Re blusher my holy grail ever is MAC in gingerly and just a tiny bit of benefit hoola bronzer

May I also recommended wearing SPF every single day?

proseccoaficionado · 20/01/2019 09:46

Oh and mascara.
My absolute favourite is guerlain (the gold one in black, but for a softer look you can choose brown too!), then bad gal bang benefit (cheaper than guerlain)

I have very normal olivey skin. It gets dehydrated tho. No age concerns really as he Botox sorts that but awful under eye bags and tiredness that comes along with small children. Thank you making a note of these

I do my face in under 10 mins after applying serum:

Blob of Superdrug Naturally Radiant day cream with SPF + squirt of Ordinary serum foundation, both on the palm of my hand. Squeeze palms together lightly to smoosh, then apply all over face.

(On casual days I replace the foundation with a blob of Avon face illuminator).

Yellow Nyx colour corrector over eye bags (NEVER miss that step) followed by Clarins concealer. (If I skipped foundation I instead blend some Clarins on chin, round nose, and in the middle of forehead).

Eye crayon in brown/grey/taupe/green/blue/auberginey all over eyelid and below bottom lashes. No need to blend. (Brands: Kiko, Autograph - Kiko in particular does not budge all day).

Two coats of Chanel Le Volume mascara.

A bit of NYC bronzing gel blended below cheekbones. Faster and less drying than bronzing powder.

MAC cream blusher in Posey.

Clear lip liner, Topshop clear lip primer, lipstick - apply+blot, apply+blot, apply+leave.

Done. You will have your own preferences but I hope some of it helps. I think the key is using creams and gels so no need for brushes or blending.

Congratulations on baby no 3 and good luck!

Thank you! That sounds easy. I already have that moister (it’s lovely!) and I use an ordinary 5% at the moment which I like. I didn’t know they did foundations do you know where they sell it In store so I can get colour matched?

I got mine at the Spitalfields shop, but I'm pretty sure the Covent Garden one has them too. You definitely need colour matching as there are lots of shades, and you may need to wait for yours to be in stock - I did, but the hype for the foundation has died a bit now.

I find the foundation a bit chalky on its own, but mixed with that lovely moisturiser it's perfect for me.

I love the Lisa Eldridge tutorials. I’m slightly addicted at the moment. This is her 5 minute routine...

Chantecaille just skin tinted moisturiser. Expensive but worth every penny.

flobella · 20/01/2019 18:25

A five minute routine from a knackered mum of two:

Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser
Laura Gellar Balance & Brighten foundation-powder
Little bit of Clarins bronzer in a figure of 3 (temple-cheek-jaw)
M&S Autograph blusher
M&S Autograph mascara
Lipstick or tinted lip balm

I’m not particularly fussy about those products and happily try any brand but the first two are set in stone and I will continue to repurchase those as they are fab.

I could probably benefit from an under eye concealer when I get round to it.

Congratulations on the pregnancy!

I am going to start getting botox when I have finished breastfeeding.

If I need quick makeup (10 minutes and run) I use the following products:

Elf Primer- 30 seconds. I use a hydrating one.
Revolution stick foundation- glides so easily and blends easily, it's a really quick product with medium coverage (light unless you apply a bit more). Probably takes 90- 120 seconds depending on how much I put on.
Any concealer I happen to have to hand - I like the Revolution one or Nars or KVD. KVD probably takes the longest to blend. About 30 seconds on that.
Powder- I use Revolution pressed powder and it takes about 30 seconds.
Eyebrows- Collection eyebrow powder and then set it with a Benefit brow gel; the powder comes with its own gel which is good for brushing the hairs but not actually setting them. Takes about 50 seconds to do them like this.
Eyeliner- currently Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. To do both eyes takes about 60 seconds (assuming I don't muck it up.
Mascara- using Maybelline mascara just now and takes about 60 seconds in total. Currently using their new one 'Snapscara' and it's pretty good, I do love Benefit Rollerlash though, probably my favourite one.
Blush- I use a Bare Minerals one- 30 seconds
If I highlight I use a Revolution one and that takes 10 seconds.
Any lipstick or lip balm I decide on the day takes about 60 seconds (less for balm obviously).

So there we have it. How long is that in total? About 9 minutes. It isn't too heavy and just a normal daytime look, nothing fancy. If I have longer then I do take longer and use different products sometimes but if I'm in a rush, I'm happy to leave the house like that. Hope that helps Smile

Ilikecurrybest · 20/01/2019 18:37

How about double wear light? I have horrendous eye bags and use a NYC colour neutraliser under the Estée Lauder cream concealed which is good coverage. Have you thought about the face in a palettes? Hourglass, stila and Charlotte tilbury do some good ones which contain eyeshadow/blush/bronzer and powder it's handy when you're in a rush as it's all in one place!

user1466690252 · 20/01/2019 21:46

Thank you everyone great tips. I have the double wear light for the summer I love it but I think the key is not needing to use brushes to blend so I can chuck it on without needing to blend so much. I am having a read now on cult beauty, will go into town on the weekend to try things. Thanks everyone
