Black circles/hollows - anyone got a magic remedy?

kalefire · 19/01/2019 18:59

Has anyone got any GREAT recommendations for something to hide my black circles and hollows under my eyes??? I can apply concealer etc which hides the black/purple but you can still see the hollows.
The rest of my face looks pretty good if I do say so myself but honestly these hollows are getting me down and I have an "event" next week where I will be photographed and I really really want to look and feel fantastic!
Who has the magic solution?? Pleeeease?

I had my tear troughs done yesterday evening so as requested here is a photo. I went to a cosmetic surgeon as I wasn’t willing to trust my face or perhaps more importantly my eyesight to a technician who might have limited skills, qualifications or experience.
He used a cannula which I’d read as being preferable, and as one side was uneven/ more hallow, it took more filler than the other - I think i received 2ml total across both eyes. There are two small pin prick marks on each upper cheek (think where you’d put your highlighter) that look like pimples calming down.
DH said he can see the circles are lessened. I’m peering at my reflection, sometimes not sure, sometimes can see the difference. I’ve got a follow up Wednesday in case anything needs remedying.
It was more expensive that quoted, but that was because of the extra filler needed.

Thanks so much for coming back to show us!

I can definitely see a difference. Will there be more change?

Did it hurt? I heard canula was the best way to do it too

I think there will still be minimal changes as any minor swelling will disappear in the next 24/48hrs. Based on what I see now, I might ask for a little more on the shallower side, as it doesn’t look quite as full, but I’ll see what he says when I go back for the follow up.

It didn’t hurt as such, just annoying - like an insect bite. There was a bit of pushing like a massage as the filler was nudged into place, but that was only on the deeper trough side.

misscockerspaniel · 25/01/2019 17:56

How long does it last?

brassbrass · 25/01/2019 18:00

Hollows are often a sign of dehydration. You need to start drinking more water everyday. It won't work overnight but you will notice a difference in time.

ModernStoneAgeFamily · 25/01/2019 18:06

I’ve been using this lemon concealer from Superdrug with some success.

NotTheQueen · 25/01/2019 18:17

@brassbrass I drink 3L a day and go to to the loo more often than my 8mth pregnant colleague In my case, it’s genetics... I look in the mirror and see my great grandmother and my nana starring back at me.

@misscockerspaniel he said 10-18mths depending on individuals, but he recommends regular top ups rather than letting it all dissipate and start again from scratch

WonderWoman2019 · 25/01/2019 18:18

NotTheQueen looks good! I was about to compliment your lovely dark irises too for a moment Wink

OP MAC Pro palette does a very vivid orange corrector for this purpose called "Pure Orange". I have it. You dilute it with concealer/foundation to taste or apply neat and then a pale concealer on top.

These are my nanas eyes

I have terrible tear troughs but don't want fillers. I do find two things help more than anything you can apply quickly; a bit of a tan (real or fake) and - game changer this - eyelash extensions. I look a million times better with both of these.

Snapsnapsnap · 25/01/2019 18:33

Notthe it looks brilliant, really-the effect is subtle but I can see the improvement. Would you mind sharing how much it cost?

Sarcelle · 25/01/2019 18:45

You can see a difference. I have the same issues.

Gladys123 · 25/01/2019 18:52

I use tarte concealer after trying about a million and it really is amazing. I finally look awake! Also doesn't look caked.

NotTheQueen · 25/01/2019 21:50

@snapsnapsnap Happy to, but I’m in Ireland so may not be very useful It was €500, which is about £425 As I mentioned further up thread, I was initially quoted less but I needed additional filler That said, I had been quoted £350/£375 from two I had contacted in the U.K. (Liverpool and London), so I think it’s fair.

I had been thinking about it for nearly two years, so had time to consider my options and put a bit aside. It was a treat mostly though as got a small promotion at work.

redredvino · 26/01/2019 21:29

My tear trough filler, filler on the bone not cannula

NotTheQueen · 27/01/2019 19:29

@redredvino Yours looks very well done - did having it on the bone hurt much?

QueenofHarts · 27/01/2019 20:24

redredvino Looking good! How much did your procedure cost? Although I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to have it done.

kalefire has your Trish McAvoy arrived yet? What do you think?

Mummy0ftwo12 · 27/01/2019 20:30

Also had tear trough fillers, it was fine.

ProjectGainsborough · 27/01/2019 20:34

Had tear trough fillers (again with proper plastic surgeon). I cacked myself but it was fine and the end result was amazing.

HOWEVER I was recently diagnosed as anaemic and since upping my iron my dark circles are wayyy better naturally.

kalefire · 28/01/2019 07:56

Redredvino it looks fantastic!!

The more I see the more tempted I am to go for it 🙈

My Trish McEvoy arrived and it certainly brightens my face up... I'm hoping with regular use it'll work on the fine lines also
