Under eye filler. Anyone had it done?

I’m a fan of Botox and a bit of filler but I’m looking into getting filler under my eyes. I don’t know anyone in real life who has had it done and I’m looking for reviews from people who have tried it, my practitioner thinks it’s the best thing since sliced bread.
I have saggy bags and dark circles. The dark circles cover but the saggy ness not so much. But I have small children who sleep rarely so wonder if it’s a waste of time for now? Tia

My daughter has recently had tear trough fillers, she had them first done in December but had them removed about 2 weeks later, as they looked a bit lumpy, the practioner refunded her, she has just had them done with someone else and they are really good this time
If you have it done make sure the practitoner has lots of experience,
My daughter is thrilled this time, i went with her and could see the difference straight away
The lady who did them this time is a dentist, they are very familiar with facial nerves etc, so know the right places to put the needles, although she used a canula, and it wasnt painful
Hope this helps
If you are not happy the filler can be removed with another injection to dissolve it, but if its good i am sure you will be happy with it

Thank you. My usual clinic is wonderful and I trust them fully they have done a few bits for me and I like the natural but better look and they always deliver. I’m glad she is pleased with them. Did she have the same concerns as me then? Does it help with the eye bags?

Yes it was mainly because of eye bags, although they were not too bad
I am glad you have someone you trust who can do this
Hope all goes well, when are you having it done,? if you decide to

It was a lot of money for not a noticeable effect. I definitely wouldn’t have it done again.

I’ve had tear trough fillers and I am delighted with the result. They are subtle but have made such a difference to the dark patches under my eyes. I no longer look knackered even when I am!

They were done via cannula in my cheek and were lumpy initially, but not enough for my husband or family to ask what was up with my eyes! I think I was just very conscious of the lumps. There was a little soreness and the lumps felt bruised to the touch, but there was no colouring. I went on holiday for a week immediately afterwards, UK not overseas, and whilst I could see the bumps on my socket bones I came back looking much more rested. By 2 weeks post-treatment all lumps were gone, all was good and I looked like me after 2 weeks solid sleep 😊

I didn’t have particularly big bags, but the fillers have removed the dark shadows and gently removed a few of the lighter under eye wrinkles. I still have some smile lines, but that is absolutely fine with me, I’m 46. I’ve also had subtle Botox on my crows feet and 11s. I just look like a less tired and grumpy version of myself. No one has noticed or commented, which is fine by me, I’ve had the treatments for myself rather than for anyone else to see a startling difference.

Sorry for the essay but hope it helps!

No your essay is perfect exactly what I was hoping for. That’s the look I like, me but less knackered. I’m not sure when I’m going to get it done but I am seeing my practitioner next week for a Botox top up so will ask then.
Whothere oh no! Can I ask what effect you wanted it to have? This is my fear

I have dark circles and eye bags which I have always had even as a child. I had cheek fillers at the same time.

I went to a dentist and she did before and after photos and she was really pleased with the results. There might have been a slight difference (more on the cheeks) at first but barely any and definitely not worth the money. I also bruised a lot.

princessTiasmum · 20/01/2019 10:20

My daghter bruised with the first lot of fillers, but not at all with the second, but the second lady took more time with the procedure, so might make a difference
I agree whothere,it is a lot of money if something doesnt work, or you are not happy with, maybe you needed a top up,or a better practitioner

My best friend had it done and it was inserted using a canular, she had a loooooot of pressure build up and her cheek on one side went grey.
The nurse who did it was really worried and made her do the 65 mile journey back to get it dissolved! If she hadn't got it dissolved so quick, she would've gone blind.
My friend is now getting it done again using an injection needle. I think she's crazy after the first scare but she really wants it done (I'm not against filler, I have Botox and lip fillers.)

Do your research, stay observant and it'll be fine.

I have had cheek fillers with three different practitioners (all advised that I needed it) and was disappointed each time. Such a subtle difference I couldn’t justify the cost again. I’d rather buy a new handbag.

I had it done in November 2017 by injection. I went somewhere extremely reputable. I live in a city and this place has the best reputation. I'm not new to things like this, I've had lip fillers once and Botox at the same place.

Personally I wouldn't have it done again. The filler was was like two bumpy ridges under my eyes. I had to go back a few times to have it massaged back in. One of my eyes looked strangely puffy for over a year afterwards. Significantly. Only now have they settled down properly. The product definitely hasn't left my system - the filler is still there.

I do get a little bit of water retention. My hands can swell a little in the morning. I'm probably not explaining it well, but it was like I had water retention around the site the fillers were injected, this was alongside it being quite firm and ridged for a long time.

I could have had it removed, but I was a little scared to TBH. It's good now, but it has taken a long time for it to be OK.

I think this procedure is too hit and miss for me.

Whothere · 20/01/2019 10:43

I also found it quite invasive, more than I expected. Lots of pushing and pressure, hence the bruising probably, and quite sore afterwards.

user1466690252 · 20/01/2019 10:44

Hmmmm my fears are being confirmed I think

I personally wouldnt have it done, too close to the eyes for me, but apparently there is lot of pushing and pulling, ,but my daughter is happy with it
I could see an immediate differene, but the effect did wear off slightly after few days, but only slightly
