I want to try shampoo bars, but I don't know which ones work.
I have a sensitive scalp and oily hair, so if anyone could recommend a suitable shampoo bar please?

I also want to replace my plastic toothbrushes with more eco friendly ones. Are bamboo toothbrushes the way to go?

And finally, washable sanpro? I don't fancy trying a mooncup, but am thinking of buying a washable pad a month (can't afford a whole set in one go) how many pads would I need a day on heavy flow? And what brand?

Budget isn't massive, I tend to buy own brand for all these, so can't really buy anything that going to be much more expensive, although I understand the alternatives do tend to be more costly.
Thanks for any recommendations.

I love that squeaky clean feeling! I might have to try that one next Happy!

MadauntofA no problems with my Friendly Soap shampoo bar lathering either. It's not as much lather as normal shampoo but I find it's easier to rinse out then. I usually when I remember lather it once or twice in my hands before rubbing it in my hair and it work a treat.

Thanks Cherry, might have to try a few!!

@Booksandpens these are the ones I bought, you get a two pouch wet bag as well for storage which makes things easier. I have the medium (10 inch) in the flower pattern.

OrganicPlanet did you join just to push your expensive products? Four posts with same link just this morning. Please at least credit us Mumsnetters with intelligence to spot unpaid marketing. Reported.

I have bought shampoo from funky soap shop. It does have palm oil, but it's certified sustainable which I hope is better than plastics. I recommend the merina coil to avoid using sanpro altogether Grin

Oh god please don't buy from Lush! It's not as natural as it seems and their products don't last long at all!

I have lots of suggestions but the best solid shampoo is Lamazuna which you can get from Ethical Superstore (Also sells cheeky panda loo roll amongst other plastic free kitchen stuff) or Babi Pur.
Friendly soaps are great - cheap, smell nice and they have a good range and quick delivery, FitPit from Green Woman, bamboo toothbrush and dentabs from anywhere really but Anything but Plastic have them.
Wild and Sage and Peace with Wild are also good.
Solids conditioner from Juliet Rose which you can get from And Keep and my most recent find is a fab essential oils based skincare line which is cheaper than most I've found...B Skincare, £7.50 a pot, in glass jars and packaged in a cardboard box with the potatoe starch chips which dissolve in water.

(I've only just joined Instagram and I'm on there as better.is.good and I'm posting all my finds there. I'm not sponsored or anything, I have been researching this stuff for over a year now and want to share my favourite products as I've tried a far few and spent a fortune and I have found great tips from MN and FB and so just putting it all in one place.)

Also I've just ordered period pants from Cheeky Wipes as I got my washable pads from there, they have a great starter kit but I've heard that Honour your Flow are also good.

I wished I'd tried them years ago, that has been a really easy change and I got a tulip cup which I found better than a mooncup as you don't have to take it out to empty it but either work well.
