Acne Scars

I'm looking for some advice on products or treatments that can help reduce acne scars. My skin is not too spotty now (finally at age 40!) but I had severe acne when I was younger that has left quite a lot of scarring on my cheeks. The scars are not red or anything but have just left my skin pock marked and uneven. I've thought about micro needling, maybe some kind of daily treatment with some acidic product or
Vitamin c?? I'm really quite clueless...! I would prefer something I can do at home as I don't have a lot of time. Has anyone had any success with any particular products they could recommend?

Hello! Depends what type of scars they are in terms of treatments. I have rolling scars (unevenness) and did microneedling a few times, with limited success (but I know it has worked for others).

I also recently had subcision and co2 laser done - still awaiting the results (it takes a few months for the full impact to be revealed).

Honestly, I found the best thing to do - depending on how much money you have - was to see a good dermatologist and ask them to guide you/recommend someone else in terms of how to treat the acne scars.

They may also give you a prescription retinoid which will help improve acne scars over time.

@Sigh81 thanks for the reply! Not sure I can stretch to a private dermatologist but I'll check out the other treatments you mentioned.

I forgot to say, I really rate Dr Sam Bunting's YouTube videos in terms of information.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=6hj6YinXUKQ is the one on acne scarring.
