AIBU regarding Dry Cleaning

MummyShah369 · 11/01/2019 14:15

AIBU to think dry cleaning shirts approx 4 to 5 every week is excessive, should one just use the washing machine, dryer and iorn at home?

Just interested in knowing how many people dry clean clothes on a weekly bases.

I don't dry clean anything

LovingLola · 11/01/2019 14:22

Depends on whether one is cash rich and time poor. In that case I can see how outsourcing shirts would be worth considering

mathsquestions · 11/01/2019 14:36

It’s sometimes no dearer than paying a cleaner to do the ironing.

I doubt they have them dry cleaned , probably washed and ironed for about £1.50 a shirt . By the time you factor in the cost of water and electricity it isn't excessive .

Well we took the plundge and am delighted cost was about 1.60 per shirt and got them back neatly folded and iorned almost felt new... any idea why trousers cost more given that iorning them should be simpler

Because trousers are dry cleaned and shirts are washed in with probably another 20/30 shirts .
Dry cleaning solvent and maintenance is much more than water . If trousers are washed they will no doubt need to be washed in a small machine on their own and drip dried which is a faff .
